RIT Safety Solutions Descenders: ISC D2 and NEW AL 4 FF Descender

The AL 4 does not take up much room in the pocket and the biggest feature is the easy release. We do training and find that some FFs shock the system as they fall out and have to do the “Prayer Method” (Both Hands) to release the system. With the AL 4, just squeeze and go. If a FF has a weak hand grip, the AL 4 Lever design makes it non-issue. Another good thing to note is that with the descender above my head, I can release the load and descend easily. That is important because we have systems with our RIT Harness and Gemtor Harness, and the A Frame puts the Descender above the users head. That position can make the grip a difficult to release with other descenders.
