Rita got my vote due to my taking dance lesson with one of her brothers who had a studio in Biscayne Blvd in Florida "Casino" which I attended when I was 6 or 7 years old and Rita's brother were professional dancers and taught me Spanish Dancing and ballet. However, he told my mother that I had a lot of talent and wanted to make me is protégé. However, my mother turned him down. I was disappointed. He had pictures at the entrance to the studio filled with pictures of Rita Hayworth and his brothers signature due to their talented dancers which Fred Astaire knew them for a long time.

I think Maryline Monroe is overrated Too much of idolâtry of Maryline Monroe Too much documentaries and books about this woman. Thé others had less biographies and less biopic movies about them They made and they Will still make movies about the Life Of Maryline Monroe.

Got to be a strong person in your life. Got to speak up, get help regardless of the abuse. Parents are the protective ones in their families. Some parents have taking advantages of their children upbringing with destructive consequences. Chasing woman, failed relationships is a recipe for loneliness. Love yourself first, have a strong relationship with God and people who have your back regardless. Another tragic story of Hollywood not helping their employees with the care they need to be happy, successful in life. Mental health, well being is important! Hollywood wake up call! Hello Hollywood! Wake up!

What has always got me, is the fact that many actresses, singers, famous celebrity's have been abused or/and raped and reported the rape or/and abuse, and nothing was done. The abuser or rapist has no charges pressed against them, never go to trial and are never held accountable for their horrible horrific crimes. This is the case of Ms Hayworth's father.

I guess you would consider Meryl Streep a scrag, or Olivia Colman, or Renee Zellweger, (or to go younger) Emma Watson, or Saoirse Ronan who started at such a young age and yet is never caught in any drama. You really might not want to group several generations of actors and actresses together. At least 75% of actors and actresses today are talented, classy, hardworking people. You also seem to forget how much suffering the actresses of this era went through to be shown in a classier light. What the studios made them go through only to spit them back out with nothing was incredibly cruel. Look I love old Hollywood movies a lot and I have massive respect for the actors and actresses. But I don't like when people completely disregard that talent we have today. Not trying to start something, it just rubs me the wrong way when I see people comment things like this.

Glen Ford was the host for the 1973 Logie Awards in Australia. I think that was the year. Michael Cole from the Mod Squad was a guest celebrity because he contributes to an orphanage in Manly just northeast of Sidney, and he really was wasted on something. He swore a few times, lost track of what he was there to say, and this was live television broadcast all over Australia. It was like the Emmy's or Academy Awards. A very big deal. Ford saved the show by taking Cole off the stage just after a lone voice from the audience shouted out, (sounded like Paul Hogan's voice) "Well he sure hasn't been smoking Winfields." Hogan was the voice of the advertising campaign for that cigarette brand at the time.

Apparently a lot of women thought he was irresistible, but honestly I never saw what all the fuss was about. He looked quite average to me.

@@karenryder6317 Absolutely. He wasn't exactly hot. Women were probably attracted to him because of his fame.

Glenn Ford was my first idol when I was 4 and 5 old age. Saw him in a Tv serial like sheriff driven a jeep did me feel happy. I wanted be like him. And abput his love story with Rita Hayworth I only may write happily that the true love is true. True as the love that I feel for a spanish diva thta triumphed in my beloved Chile.

Rita/Bette...who could possibly choose between the two? But, apples & oranges, both well-established great fruits, & for a good reason.

I day dreamed of Rita coming to my little town and being my Spanish teacher when I was about 10yo. I was sure she'd be more fun that Mrs. Frudenthal.

Hey philandering and booze didn't hurt Glenn Ford. After all he lived to be 90, Jesus!

Rita was very beautiful her red hair was gorgeous. I never understood WHY orson cut her hair and colored it. She was a great dancer too. But men used her. But that's Hollywood unfortunately My favorite Actress was Joan Crawford.

Orson wanted Rita to look harder in The Lady from Shanghai. Her greatest dramatic role.

I went to America in the 70's and remember the tourist guide pointing out the houses of Glenn Ford and Rita Hayworth, yes both nextdoor neighbors, probably kept their loneliness at bay being side by side.

The clip you used of her when she was blonde is from Lady from Shanghai. They both looked like teenagers in The Lady in Question.
