Rita, don't pay attention to all the comments about your English. People that post them most likely never spoke on camera, in non-native language, while trying to deliver quality content. Many of them haven't learned how to deliver constructive feedback. You are not afraid to be raw and vulnerable in the process of learning and it speaks volumes about your personality. I don't know how Ukrainians do it but they are truly an inspiring nation.

This! Besides, there are plenty of KZbinrs who are non English-native speakers, but this doesn’t prevent them from having hundreds thousands of followers. For example, Justine Leconte. Quality content is what matters! Don’t get discouraged, Rita. The more videos in English you’ll film, the more you will improve. And your vocabulary and pronunciation are already amazing!

I disagree. At least she could try with a few takes, not just one and leave it as it is(( maybe watch through and make a few cuts. Her English is good, but if she is targeting the US and other English-speaking audience, she has to sound more natural. Otherwise it’s all in vain and the channel just won’t grow. Most of all the intonations are intolerable, all the phrases going up, which creates a sense of uncertainty and doesn’t transmit her expertise. And if these comments of the audience are taken into consideration an processed, it might make the final product much better. So not all criticism is just for picking at a person.

@@Pershakova What a dedication Maria. You wrote at least 3 hateful comments to Rita's video. It's interesting how fashion blogger's content can trigger so many emotions :) my guess is that you must be really irritated because Rita switched from speaking russian to creating English videos. And it irritates you because you are actually from russia. I'd advise you to invest all this free time you have to reflect on what damage your country is doing in Ukraine on a daily basis killing people - go and hate lavrov and putin with the same level of dedication in social media instead.

@@victoria19162 interesting, what was hateful about my comments? But it is my business to what dedicate my personal time and I didn’t ask for anybody’s advice. And I wonder what does language discussion has to do with politics 🤦‍♀️ As for my comments: I am fan of good English, it doesn’t irritate me that Rita is making videos in English, I speak fluently this language and it is more content for me to enjoy. But I definitely see room for improvement. And btw she didn’t switch to English, she keeps making videos in Russian too.

Your English is excellent, very colloquial (that’s a great thing, meaning how natives really speak, not just out of a grammar book, although that part is important, too; true fluency incorporates both). Is your Portuguese as good? You have the gift for language! My Dad, who is a native Greek, gave this funny example: an acquaintance said he spoke English and demonstrated “I arose and broke my fast”. While perfectly correct, no one ever says that, it’s “I got up and had breakfast!” That’s the importance of colloquialism.

I agree with all your points except for the new layer should be thicker which I think it is more correct to say new layer should be looser not necessarily thicker. For example, a nice thin and figure-hugging wool jumper underneath an oversize shirt does look really nice and warm at the same time for winter IMO.

The last advice reminded me of the trend when women would match their handbags and shoes (by color/brand/texture). I know, it's so old, but it's still out there. Great advices, thank you ❤️

Your English is sensational. Better, than English of a number of other famous speakers of Slavic descents living in the USA. Just better than English of a number of other KZbins of ex USSR descents, who didn't grow up in the US, or other English - speaking countriew. The difference can be uncanny. The way you speak, it's a killer. It's extra polished, smooth. It's fluent Similar to how this linguist guy Zac Nelson is speaking Ukrainian. It's either maximum of talent, or gaining that level through working through blood and sweat, Or both. Few can do. I studied at the same linguistic faculty. Few students or teachers in those speak on a similar to yours level. To be more exact, in real life, typically none spoke Foreigners can understand and warmly receive a non-native speaker, who is making one or a few errors here and there. They themselves can make those errors and it's okay. But for our people, English is a competition, Or for narcissistic haters, Looking for an error, looking for what seemingly may be a 'flaw' , Is a big deal...

It happened a lot to me - just because somebody said that I looked good in a particular piece of clothing, I felt the need to buy it. Though, me personally I didn’t like it that much. so I’d keep it in my wardrobe, yet rarely wear it.

Style can be subjective because I completely disagree with the mixed metal look. A mono jewelled look always appears more classy and polished to me. Sure one juxtaposition piece like a ring is fine but mixing metals all over the place is a no for me.

Me, too, I just buy everything in gold. Plus, I like matching, it gives a cohesive look. “Don’ts” or “No-Nos” are dependent on personal style, not rules.

It’s not only important to vary one’s silhouettes, but to keep them up to date, also. Many women around my age (62) only wear the big, long top (tunics, the worst!) over tight, skinny trousers silhouette. This silhouette is not current and really not that flattering, either. It does show some slim legs, but at the expense of making them look short and stumpy, ruining overall proportions, and it makes the torso look like a big, square shapeless block. It’s amazing the resistance they have to wide-leg, or even straight-leg trousers, but I love them. It’s too easy to get stuck in a past look at this age. It’s good to keep up with trends in fashion, hairstyles and makeup, but not to be a slave to them.
