Ritchie Torres Stands with Israel at AJC Global Forum 2024, Introduced by Curtis Lane

Introduced by Curtis Lane, AJC Board of Governors, American Jewish Committee (AJC) was honored to welcome Rep. Ritchie Torres (D-NY) to the AJC Global Forum 2024 stage. Torres spoke about his work in Congress fighting antisemitism, his longstanding support for Israel, and the challenges the Jewish state has faced since the October 7 massacre by Hamas. He reiterated Israel’s right to self-defense, that Hamas terrorists must be brought to justice, and that all the hostages must be released.
Torres has been one of Israel’s staunchest supporters and advocates since Hamas’ massacre on October 7. In April, Torres helped lead a two-day mission to Israel where he-alongside several leaders from the Bronx-met with Israeli defense minister Yoav Gallant and families of hostages, and saw the devastation of Kibbutz Nir Oz firsthand.
