Riteish Sir, Genelia ma'am First of all heartiest congratulations for the success of #VED . The film has touched the hearts of several people. The cinephiles have genuinely replied back with their willingness to come to the theatres and make it the 2ND HIGHEST GROSSING MARATHI FILM after #Sairat. My interpretations of the reasons why the film worked are: 1. Both of you are the most loved and admired couple in the Marathi cinema. The audience were waiting with baited breath to see you in a Marathi film like this ever since you made your debut in the Marathi cinema 8 years back with LAI BHAARI (2014). 2. A genuinely heart touching story, beautifully and deftly handled by you that too as a first time director was commendable. 3. A fantastic music score by the one and only pride of the MARATHI CINEMA : AJAY-ATUL 4. Perfectly placing a REEL worthy song like Ved lavlay in the album and getting SALMAN KHAN in the music video and influencers to dance on it further amplified its impact. Now, I want you to take up some serious steps as follows to make sure that even the MARATHI CINEMA gets the kind of commercial viability that KANNADA cinema earned after KGF 2 & KANTARA, 777 CHARLIE, etc. 1. Please ,if not in the capacity of distributors, then atleast try giving a shout out to all the MAJOR MARATHI FILMS coming up this year. Atleast the ones which are having totally out of the box content like GADAD ANDHAR, VAALVI, JAGGU ANI JULIET, GHAR BANDUK BIRYANI, VICTORIA, etc 2. I want you to be the RAKSHIT SHETTY of MARATHI CINEMA. We already have a VIJAY KIRAGANDUR equivalent in the form of AKSHAY BARDAPURKAR with his PLANET MARATHI pushing the envelope of MARATHI FILMS. The way Rakshit has promoted the KANNADA films by giving shout outs endlessly similarly that TOUCH OF STARDOM is something that MARATHI FILMS lack big time. 3. Try amping up the production line-up of your MFC (MUMBAI FILM COMPANY) now. By collaborating with as many commercial MARATHI FILMMAKERS , by bringing back those MARATHI ACTORS, FILMMAKERS , TECHNICIANS who have drifted away to HINDI CINEMA i.e ASHUTOSH GOWARIKAR, LAXMAN UTEKAR, TEJAS DEOSKAR, URMILA MATONDKAR, MADHURI DIXIT, NANA PATEKAR etc. They will bring their stardom and brand equity to generate hype for MARATHI films.

Having watched Majili right after Ved I too noticed the 1st half of both films being quite different & regardless of how good I think the Telugu original is I just felt Ved's 1st half as well as the reason in Ved why Shravani marries a washed up miserable Satya was more enjoyable to watch in the film. Hope 🤞 it crosses 100 koti mark & definitely looking forward to more Marathi blockbusters from the Deshmukh couple. Also his intention to do beyond just filmy music makes me happy as since childhood despite liking may be some songs once in awhile I never liked the concept of songs in films & this is before I found out the biggest film industry in the world i.e. hollywood doesn't have songs & dances in the middle of their films which also allows their independent music industry to be big & it's own thing.

I don't believe in bycott or anything and loved shah rukh Khan movies. But The way pathaan film shows caste pride and dominance indirectly and you anupama said nothing about it (otherwise you mentioned about caste Dynamics in RRR and many other films and rightfully so). Pathaans in India are the ones who are usually light skinned and can trace themselves to the Pashtos/Pakthuns of Afghanistan. There is a certain superiority complex and ethno-caste pride which goes with being a Pathan in India. Even in Kabul, where I have worked for many years, being a Pashto which is the dominant group in Afghanistan, they have a strong sense of pride and superiority complex. In particular they discriminate against the hazaras. A lot of their source of pride comes from their history of strong fighting and from their code of honor called pashtunwali.
