Ah nice, I never got round to building a Zep but always wanted one, I felt like this was the closest I could get to one these days, plus I liked the additional vertical stabilisers 😊 cheers

It was good to see the singularity placement though and the CG. Yeah, we need to get a UK importer for Badass motors.

Thanks Alain 👍🏻 yeah you can mount a GoPro on this no problem. If you search Thingiverse for the nose you’ll find a couple of different options (you may need to search for Recon nose but the front is identical to ZCon 👌🏻 ) cheers

Great video Adam. In another video you mentioned this was your favourite wing. Can you go into detail why please ? Pros cons etc? And how does it handle wind ? Plenty of that in the UK! Thanks

For me the Zcon is just a great all rounder. It flies like it’s on rails, can cruise around slowly for really long flight times (longest I’ve done was 1h 15m) but it can also move around quickly while remaining efficient. It’s like a blade in the sky so it uses low amps for flying mid - fast speeds. No assembly in the field, put batteries and camera in it and off you go. Light enough that it hand Launches easily and predictably every time. But not so light that it gets knocked around by light wind like a 1m wingspan wing would. Max 56a on launch and then full throttle is around 45a flying level, so it’s no worry for the fc to handle it. And overall it just handles so well, quite agile for its size. I think I’m going to buy another this winter as a few tree and ground clippings recently are taking their toll 😅 Cons: -not super easy to get batteries that fit well -Like any of the larger planes it needs a little more room to land -Doesn't fit in the boot of my car

Beautiful build. The kit, however isn't for the faint of heart. Definitely for the initiated. The orange paint ensures at least an extra 100km/h. What's the stall speed on this model?

Thanks 😊 yeah this kit is for those that like to build, requires some time and effort but this adds to the satisfaction when it flies so well 👌🏻 haha for sure, we all know orange is faster than white 😂 I actually can’t remember the stall speed, tested it at nearly a year ago. It wants to glide for a long time this wing does!! Cheers

Yeah they're on the pricey side, but you get a high quality tried and tested bit of kit. Some people enjoy the scratch build so it just depends what you're into. Thanks :)

Adam, Great videos! I have a couple of questions. Why do people fly more Wings vs. planes like a Sky Hunter Etc.? I want to build something that I can fly waypoints and get the most cinematic footage. I also saw you had flown a plane with a Feiyu Tech Gimbal was this a good option for the best footage? INAV or ARDUPILOT for Waypoint Flight? Thanks for your help and incredible videos :)

Hi, I'm not sure that more people fly wings than planes, it's probably the other way round. However, the advantages of a wing are that they require less servos, less parts sticking out meaning they are normally harder to damage and they are usually easier to transport without a tail etc. Gimbal is good if you want high quality stable footage that looks like it was shot by something like a phantom, but personally I prefer action cams with stabilisation. INAV if you want simple and easy setup and don't need to track it on a pc or make changes to the mission mid flight, otherwise go for Ardu. A lot more complicated and also a lot more functionality.

I don’t believe there is any benefit to using one. Landing with a fixed prop is fine as long as you have ESC break on. I’ve never broken a prop on landing with this wing in around 200 flights. Folding props just add more complexity and vibrations

Thanks Kyle. I went with this motor because 1: It came highly recommended. 2: I love that BadAss provide full data sheets on many different props and cell count. 3: I just like trying different brands. This motor has performed very well and I now have one for my big Drak too. Cheers

Can you measure the CG from the back of the root (motor section) I'm having issues with mine. It's heavier than yours with 5500mah 4s x2 but I think I'm a bit nose heavy as well

Hi, I measured this for someone else the other day. The recommended cg spot at 9” is 11cm from the back, but I fly a cg 12cm from the back. What issue you having?

@@AdamGdoesFPV Just could not get it in the air very often, seems like my CG is pretty dang close to 12cm. I didn't have inav autolaunch setup I was launching in manual mode but after I biffed it a couple times the nose was soft and the one time I got it up in the air it had a ton of vibes in the cam (need to check the prop balance for sure) and I caught a bit of a tailwind right as I landed and I destroyed the nose because it's so thin with the gopro/fpv mount up there.
