Electric Mode is Ideal to Use during City Driving, Lalo na kung Traffic. Back to Gasoline Mode ka nalang during Highway Driving.

For now this is a better option than pure ev in Ph since there is lack of infra support. Plus the cost of electricity in Ph is much higher compared to, say, US or Sg. Going out of town wont be a problem. If only Cherry distributor would lower the price 😉

Yung savings na 45k ay hindi kaya i justify ung difference na 700k to 1M ng gas equivalent ng tiggo 8 pro. It means mga 15 to 22 years bago ka makabawi not to mention na max 10 years lang ang battery life if not assuming hindi bumigay earlier which is also cost in the hundreds of thousands. With 2.6M price konti nalang full EV ka na Tesla 3 or Toyota BZ4X

idol RM hindi ba yan halimbawa 200 kms byahe mo so ibig sabihin mauubos ang electric nya. diba pede kana gumamit ng gasoline i shift mo lang sa gasoline. tapos dapat pag gasoline ang gamit dapat mag charge na ung electric kase makakapag provide ng electricity ang makina pag naandar.

Distance range figures given by manufacturers are never accurate. They are computations from their research. Actual distance range will depend on several factors and driving habits. If you are in a traffic jam and not moving then your a/c is on, radio is on, lights are on, wipers are on if it's raining outside and several more. And just like mobile phones, batteries wear out overtime. Before, a full charge last for 1 whole day but as it gets older, a full charge last only half a day. You will have to change it. All those money you save in gas, you will spend to buy a new battery. And the price of the PHEV model is P800K more than the 1.6 model. So it will take you almost 10 years to truly say you save some money by buying the PHEV model.

This is not for people looking for a cheaper alternative. There's a niche market for this vehicle. Those who can afford this are not into the "getting-this-to-save-gas" market because just by acquiring this needs an enormous fire p🤑wer compared to other vehicles like Celerio, Ertiga, or the likes which they can get at the fraction of this price.

Mas priority niya electric ang gamitin over gas. Kahit full batt tapos naka HEV mode ka, yung battery power yung gagamitin niya instead of gas depende na lang if nilagay mo sa Sport mode. Dun lang niya gagamitin yung gas + battery sa mabilisan na takbo pero pag mabagal lang kahit Sport mode, battery pa din gagamitin niya basta may enough charge.

Depende sir sa battery percentage remaining. Pag medyo mababa na (less than 50%), automatic na siya papasok sa HEV mode (gas + electric).

1. kung gagamet kayo ng kahet anong Hybrid Electrci Vehicle lage nyo monitor yun remaining battery life naka-indicate yan sa dashboard, pag nasa 20-10% na lang saka kayo mag switch to petral 2. i think sa pag switch to petral gas, di nyo na kelangan itabe ang sasakyan, On the Go na yan switching

Automatic na siya magsswitch. Ang default setting niya eh 10-20% magsswitch na siya from pure EV mode to HEV mode or hybrid mode

IDOL RM and MAAM ELAINE... Yang Phev bagay lang yan sa mga owner na 10-15 years nila gagamitin ang sasakyan nila.. Pero sa katulad ko na every 5 years ay nagpapalit ng model eh lugi ako dyan sa Phev.. why?? Srp price now. Tiggo 8 Pro - 1.7M Tiggo 8 Pro Phev - 2.5M Difference is 800K ang dinagdag ko na pera para makabili ng Phev instead na Tiggo 8 Pro Sabi nyo po P43K ang matitipid in 1 year. Let us say P45K round off na natin. 5 years x P45K = P225K P800K - P225K = 575K napamahal pa ako.. tapos after 5 years ibebenta ko na sya kase may bagong model ulit.. so nalugi ako 😆.. hindi ko man lang na enjoy at naramdaman ang sinasabing naka tipid ako.. 😆 Bagay yang Phev sa mga tao na 10 years to 15 years Bago magpalit ng sasakyan. Sa mga katulad ko na nagpapalit every 5 years eh lugi kase yung ROI hindi namin naramdaman.

@@ilovemangos8725 Sir. Kahit isama ko ang gas consumption ni Tiggo 8 Pro sa loob ng 5 years tapos isama ko sa computation, eh lugi ka parin or break even ka lang if kada 5 years nagpapalit ka ng sasakyan. Mararamdaman mo sya kapag 10 years mo ginamit ang PHEV.

Konti lang kaya i-charge ng makina dahil sa high capacity(19kwh) ang battery. DI tulad ng regular hybrid, 5-7kwh lang ang battery. Kaya tawag nila dito ay plugin hybrid. Kelangan mo talaga i plug para ma take advantage mo ang electric mode. Ideal ito sa mga short trips, 20-25 kms each way. Para battery mode ka lang, then gas na back up. My hybrid mode pa rin naman, pero not as efficient as regular hybrid.

Good review! But don't forget: 1. PHEV vehicles are more expensive to begin with (around 800,000 pesos more). About 12,307 liters of gas at 65pesos/liter X 10km per liter = 123,307 kms of driving 2. Yun battery will deplete in a couple of years, eventually papalitan (very Expensive). Lithium batteries went up 3x the cost compared to 2 yrs ago. 3. Claimed range 95kms, ideally 60-70 lang yan once you have more passengers, and using Air conditioning. 4. Mahal ang koryente, Simple way is kung ang battery ay 19kwh(according sa specs nya) , magkano ang 19kwh na koryente. And, after the battery is depleted, for long trips, your back to normal gas, mas matakaw dahil mabigat ang sasakyan because of the battery. Hmmn, something to think about??

1. A lot of people who can afford this and are targets of this tech usually don't concern with recupirating their money. They just want to experience driving EV. Hybrids are the closest thing as of yet because of lack of infrastracture. If your concern is getting your money back, i agree that it is better to buy cheap high fuel efficiency ICE cars. Or don't own a car at all. 2. Depleted is a harsh word to describe it. Word should be degredation. In 10 years, at most 20% will be loss, but you still have 80% working battery. No need to replace it yet. This is based from historical data. Also, Lithium Ion price went down by 97% in the last three decades. Where did you get the 3x price increase? It's only 7%. There are highs and ups for battery prices, but the overall trends due to tech advancement points it going down. 3. Again, sources? But even then, the 60 - 70km is enough in City driving which the electric part is designed for anyway. 4. Mas mahal ang gas. And ang kuryente ay may ways para in the future maging mas mura by becoming cleaner and sustainable. Ang oil, foreover ng madumi at unsustainable, not to mention dependent sa middle east. We really need to get out of oil. 5. Paanong mabigat? Mas mabigat ang typical SUVs with +2500kg while ang yang Tiggo 8 hybrid ay less 1800kg.

@@cmp10 Yes,people who can afford this, don't care about mpg here in US (kpl in Phils.). They just don't buy Plugin Hybrids at all. That is why Benz, BMW and Landrover stopped making them. They would rather still buy ICE, or pure EV. -Battery: I have a Tesla Model S (2014), had the battery replaced 2yrs ago, good thing it's still under warranty. Otherwise it would have been a $20,000 bill. Yes, they should last much longer, but that is the best case, they do "degrade" rather quickly as well too. Depends on the use, terrain, load, weather, etc.. With the heat and humidity in Phils? Your lucky if you get over 5 yrs out of it. -Heavy: I meant, too heavy for the engine. 1.5 liter for an SUV (even though it's turbo) with that battery, 19kwh is about 200kg. That is equivalent to about 3 medium sized passengers. What happens to the efficiency of that engine when you have 5 people aboard.. Everybody's goal is to go clean sustainable energy. But not yet, I don't think in our lifetime.. Btw, I'm trading in my Tesla for the new 2023 Prius. Tired of dealing with charging.

@@artma5451 1. Uhm, a google search shows that each of the cars you mentioned have hybrids and EVs in their lineups. Anyway, I actually agree with you, my point is that I'm just not sure why people are so hangup on the fuel savings on this car's price point. And I'm not just talking about you but also the reviewers. At a certain price point, if you're so concerned with fuel costs, then I think there are other priorities you should first address like the straight up cost of the car whether it's hybrid, ev or ice. 2. Sorry to hear about your sad experience in EV. I understand your pessimism now. I truly believe your story. But there are also those majority who are on the positive side with their 2014 model. To balance such conflicting stories, I hope you understand that I am still inclined to base my confidence in overall historical research and statistical data than a personal narrative. 20% is actually average case, not worst. There are also cooling systems and insulation in batteries to address your concern in hot climates. Anyway, I'll report here in this comment if the Li-on battery of my car expired within 10 years or if it is still fine (if you-tube is still around by then), I"m actually really curious how it will perform. haha 3. Oh got it about the weight, yep, just by the ICE engine power, SUVs like Fortuner seems more powerful, however, Okavango's is still using combined electric to assist its engine, that is why even though it's "only" 1.5, it still has better HP and Tourque than say fortuner with +2L. The thing is, I also don't like PHEV for a different reason, but not on efficiency. Anyway, I'm sad that you gave-up already. Don't worry gramp, my new generation will see to it that EV will happen in my lifetime so the experience and sacrifices of your previous generation will not have been in vain.
