John, I have a Kubota BX23S and have not raised the hydraulic pressure. I bought the cylinders from HydrosPlus last fall, and had to buy hydraulic hoses since the factory hoses were a tad short. Kubota shows 2 different part numbers for the hydraulic hoses, so I suspect one might be a little shorter than the other. Make sure you don't want to stretch hydraulic hoses. I haven't noticed any stability issues, but I also have 2.5" spacers on my rear wheels, which would help make the tractor a little more stable. I never raise the loader higher than the hood when driving around. I moved rock and dirt since installing these cylinders, and don't think you'll overload the front axle considering the size of the loader bucket. The cylinders definitely make it easier to dump material in taller trailers. I also have the Land Pride PFL1242 pallet forks. The main reason I bought these cylinders, is I have storage racks in my pole barn and the cylinders give me an additional 11.5" of lifting height, plus I could lift 35% more weight. I raised the shelves and gained an additional 11.5" of storage height below. It's definitely nice to have the added lifting capacity, and lifting height when you need it. Use common sense if you install these cylinders, and don't drive around with the loader raised 6' or you might be 6' under!

What was the part number you ordered for the longer hoses and did younfind out they were short when trying to install them? Thank you

I thought about doing a cylinder upgrade but I’m concerned the increase in power will cause the loader frame to self destruct. I will check out that channel and look forward to the lift capacity test. Thanks for a great video!

I seriously think you could be traveling on dangerous ground here with this MOD. The BX was never designed to lift almost 12 inches higher and as a retired Police Officer I've been to several roll over accidents where the operator turned the tractor with a load raised and over he went and was crushed. This looks like a great thing but I would have to say that more testing needs to be done. I love your stuff so don't take this wrong.

Series valves for you will cause the output of one valve to become the input of the other valve. That's why kubotas loaders are faster than deere even with lower flow. That does cause one other weird behavior. When one valve goes into relief it dumps the oil to tank instead of sending it to the next valve. On Deere the return oil of each valve are draining to tank instead of being sent out to do more work. With big hydrospump on deere. Lifting and curling gets a whole easier. Stock flow stinks. Good stuff 👍👍

I added them after you mentioned them in a previous video over a month ago. I had to get new hydraulic lines made but I think it was worth it. I have pallet raking set to 8ft and I couldn't get stuff up that high. Now I can. Turned the tractor into a way more useful tool. I don't believe 35% is enough to destroy the tractor like others have mentioned but it's enough for my tractor to now do everything I hoped it would when I bought it. I also have the BX23S. Appreciate all your videos. Keep on tractoring

Lots of folks saying the danger of these and over manufacturer recommendation - totally understand. For me - two massive issues this completely solves: first, my tractor BARELY has enough juice with the pallet forks on to be able to lift the front snowblower (while on a 72"W thin pallet) up onto my racking system. With this kit, moving at a very slow speed over to the rack, now solves this issue - essentially saving me INSANE extra work 2x a year. Worth it there alone. Second: we own a roof tent for our Jeep Gladiator and it's set pretty high off of a lifted vehicle on top of the racks. Stock putting this up there with pallet forks isn't even an option - won't get high enough. Again - same thing here now... now at slow speed I can get into position and hit the height I need to slide it over onto the vehicle racks. Simply said - these two issues were almost enough to cost me $30k in upgrading from a BX to an LX or L (with similar attachments that don't carry over)... with this part, I can stay in my BX and just do daily rentals for the bigger jobs that happen 1x a year (or less).

Yes, loader, thanks to gravity and not having a pilot circuit, you can control loader and bucket (due to fluid drag and path of least resistance) without engine running. Things I would like to see in next test… 1) bucket dump angle at new full lift height. 2) of course cycle time. 3) hyd. Fluid temp when doing test (IR gun on side/bottom of transmission) 4) dismount of loader. Just want to see if anything changed there. I’m thinking not but better to find/fix issues now than later.
@ritterjon Жыл бұрын
I can get all those tests except the hydro fluid temp. Not sure what I would compare it to. The temp of anything hydro is going to rise the more you use it. I just don't understand the point. Any further details are welcome. Keep on tractoring!
@garny3766 Жыл бұрын
@@ritterjon just as long as new cylinder test is close in hydraulic temp to the benchmark test. Hot oil pumps easier less restrictive…aka faster cycle…assuming there is not excessive wear in your system. In that case cold oil may do better.

Messicks made a vid basically telling people not to run these. Odd you have to go aftermarket to loft what a 1025R can stock. That was my biggest gripe with my BX23S. Loader was very conservative, bumping the hydraulic pressure was only noticeable on backhoe. That said, the machine never gave me a big problem.

One issue I did experience though - having extremely limited experience with hydraulic lines... I absolutely overtightened either the fittings on the cylinder or the actual hoses onto the fittings. First drive out of the barn I had fluid going EVERYWHERE like a damn geyser. Don't believe I experienced any damage to the threads - just think moronic first timer over-tightening of everything over the o-rings. Project is slated for today to re-do these with new o-rings and just a 1/2 turn over hand-tight on all fittings is what I've been told. Anyone with any recommendations on this fix?

The problem with getting more bucket height is your load is even more above your tractor hood. More problems with dirt and rocks coming back on you .

For me the lift capacity is a plus, being in Canada and able to lift snow an extra foot is huge. Unfortunately the duty, money exchange etc etc will likely preclude me from making that move. Free trade on tractor parts is a must. Imagine the market that it would open up for US manufacturers. Shit Messick's can't even sell me a hat.

Hello, after watching your videos on the piston upgrades I ended up ordering a set for my bx2680. My question is how long did it take to get them? When I ordered them the website said they were backordered...however 3 days later my card was charged the full amount plus shipping. That was 3 weeks ago. I've messaged Kevin and asked him to confirm that they have shipped about 2 weeks ago and have got no reply? I'm beginning to wonder if I've been ripped off. Any information you could let would be appreciated. Thanks John.

With the added height it most likely doesn't go down as far as factory. That would suck when trying to use loader to lift front end high as possible, push yourself out when stuck or trying to dig a hole with loader. Seems way too many cons with only one pro. Better off pulling a trailer up to a curb and loading with tractor on higher ground if more height is needed.
@ritterjonАй бұрын
Actually it didn’t affect the downward digging force at all. Still the same as the factory cylinders excepts a lot more lifting capacity. Keep on tractoring!
