In today’s video, we’ve got another RIU hotel for you. This time, we’re at the RIU Caribe which is next door to the RIU Palace Peninsula. RIU Caribe is a great hotel with a uniquely themed pyramid like lobby, and wonderful beach. If you don’t like walking very far, this hotel is not very big at all. Though, there is lot’s of space to spread out from other guests.

We visited this resort years ago when we stayed at the Riu Palace Peninsula and it hasn’t changed at all except for the beach. The beach looks beautiful now. The water was brown and nasty when we stayed in January about 6 years back. This is one of the few Riu properties that still has a pool with some personality. Most have gone to the boring rectangular shape.

The beach was fantastic when we were there. I know what you mean about the seaweed season though. It gets pretty gross.

@@WherewegoingNext It wasn’t even Sargassum seaweed when we went. There was actually plant life and seaweed growing up from the ocean floor. Attached to the bottom. Was horrible. Nobody was in the water. They had to have gone in and pulled all that stuff up and done some work to the beach ! The water in front of the Palace Peninsula didn’t have that problem the water was pristine there just a rocky shoreline. Enjoy your channel very much. Thank you !

Thank you been following your videos to get an idea since our group leaves in July. We are staying at the RIU Palace Peninsula and our group thanks you for your review of the resort. We understand that we will be able to also use the RIU Caribe siince we are registered at a RIU Palace. What is the biggest difference between the RIU Palace and RIU Caribe. Is the Palace more upscale, and larger in size than the RIU Caribe.

Yes, exactly. The resort is larger with more amenities and there is a larger selection of food at the buffet. You are welcome to visit RIU Caribe, Cancun and Las Americas as well which are a short drive down the Cancun strip👍🏻

Just subscribed to your channel. Will be watching your RIU videos. We never been to RIU. From what I’ve read this has been recently renovated which is good. As a couple who’s looking for a quiet relaxing atmosphere is this resort a party RIU or more laid back ?

This is more of a party resort. If you’re looking for a more quiet resort, we recommend the RIU Palace Riviera Maya. We have a video tour on our channel of this resort as well 👍🏻

Yes, they have several themed parties! We just filmed an updated hotel tour after the renovation of this resort - it will be up in the next month - and we show clips of the jungle party. It was amazing!!

Hello awesome video. My friends and I are planning on going to Cancun next April. I’ve watched pretty much all of your Cancun videos lol. In your opinion if you had to choose which resort would you say is better/ nicer overall between Riu Caribe and Riu Cancun?

It’s tough to say - the RIU Caribe has been recently renovated this year and will look new and beautiful, whereas RIU Cancun is more dated. The Caribe is also further from the downtown area and is more family oriented, whereas Cancun is a more party hotel and is right downtown close to shopping and nightlife. It’s depends what kind of vacation you’re looking for 🤷🏼‍♀️

@@deenice1980hey I went literally 5 days ago just got back home if your going with friends you’ll love it there’s many bars and many pools. Everything it just amazing about it the staff are so polite. As well cancun is not the best the taxi drops you off we’re these guys pick u up for a picture we it a total scam everyone feels like they trying to scam you n in cancun. I loved Mexico when u went but the shops are very expensive so all inclusive is great

Staying at the Peninsula soon. Can peninsula guests go over to the Caribe beach and pools? Looks like the beach may be a little better at the Caribe and more shaded.

Yes peninsula guests can go use the Caribe facilities - but not vice versa
