i think the reason why the school is not really a "school" is because they were once a school full of deliquents to the point where everyone thought they were dangerous and the staff probably left. However, it was only 2 years ago that they started to become the town saviors so they probably haven't had a chance to clean up the graffiti on their school etc.

It seems a lot of comments are misunderstanding (not Joe though, he's a cool guy with full of curiosity so I'm happy). It wasn't explained in the manga but in a logical perspective, like Kotoha said in Ep1, Furin used to be a 'bad' and 'toxic' delinquent school which made the staff, principle and teachers quit and no one is teaching the students anymore. Then Hajime and the Four Kings enrolled 2 years ago (as First Years, in present they are now Third Years) and took over this toxic environment of a school and changed it to a better place. Why are there still no teachers? Remember Sakura saying he wants to become top? That's him being unaware that Furin has changed because it's only been two years. The only ones who knew are the townspeople (this is more like the real question is why are there no teachers in town). Outsiders don't know Furin has changed. So no teachers got a hold of the news Furin has changed or they have a lot of doubts or still scared, we can't blame them. Why are there no cops to patrol instead? I think it was mentioned in manga (I'm not sure) but the cops gave up on the town because they couldn't control the past Furin students and gave up, so yes the police kinda abandoned the town? Those grafittis aren't caused by current Furin students but past Furin students who are no longer in school and some outsiders who goes to town (example are the delinquents in Episode 1 that Sakura beat up) did those. There are a lot of delinquent-centric stories in Asian media like manga, movies, shows, and even webtoons so these problems or questions isn't new to a lot of us :) happy to help and fill in the gaps ! Please correct me if I'm wrong if I ever forgot some non-spoiler information in the manga!

It still feels weird that they don't call the cops when people are destroying their property and rather they will rely on kids who can get hurt pretty bad. I know about this gang culture in Japan but it's just weird that adults also keep quiet knowing that students are good people.

@@chasinghaze0962 I also wondered the same and I finally found the chapter where they mentioned the cops. It's canon and will probably not be mentioned in the anime for a long time. All the cops turn a blind eye to the violence. I wouldn't call this a terrible plot build up when it happens in reality to Asian countries. So it was the cops who first abandoned the adults in the town until Umemiya and his friends stepped up to protect the townspeople. So I can understand how the townsfolk rely on the kids but at the same time, they repay them (I think they know themselves they are weak). It's not give and take, it's simply empathy towards a human and another human who helps you everyday. Maybe behind the scenes the townsfolk are saying the Furin kids are good now but society in Japan is unlike western countries. They are more judgemental, prone to discriminate others who are not 'normal' to them.

For decades this school has been a delinquent school so there has been no teachers but just 2 years ago the students changed to protect the town so fights happen all the time and the students stop those

Regarding the school situation i heard it's an abandoned school so not fully functional, how they got uniforms and classroom roosters? its prob just the "students" work. I have no idea if this is 100% true tho the reddit thread claimed this was the reason

​​@@Timmycooin Mahouka Koukou case, it actually explained that they are lacking teacher. Student mostly self study from computer. The available teacher I saw so far, mainly become advisor in out of class project.
