Would you recommend getting the expansion too? I'm looking at that $84 pledge that comes with the deluxe version (for 8 players) and the expansion.

Hard to say as I haven't played with the expansion personally. It does add more options and it all looks pretty good though, but from what i've read, none of it is necessary as such. PS: One of the project managers i do work for is also called Tim Chan ;)

I really did like this game, but the killer for me is the player count issue. It's SOOOO much better with a big group and we don't get big groups often at my place. This is one of those games that will rarely hit the table at my place, but if someone else pulls it out with a big group, id gladly jump in. Anyone have other games like that, where its not really practical for you but you still would love to play it more.

Dune is such a bear to organize. 6 is really needed and its play time ain't short.Still, better than Twilight Imperium in that regard

I've played it at 4 to 7 and don't feel it requires as many as you mention personally. More is better but 4 is my limit.

Thanks for this one! I thought this game looked like something the partner/kid would enjoy due to the tempo, but neither of them dig "screw each other over" dynamics so it would never get onto the table. KS dollars saved!

Also, realty wouldn't work at low player counts either. Its basically a scaled up party game, nothing wrong with that, but it needs to energy of a big group

Really late to this video! You mention 4-8 players but the bgg page says 2-6. I was excited for the 7-8 player count. Did something change between these years?

Nah, its 2-6, you can play with more and we did, but that was with the expansion.

Have you checked Kitchen Rush? I looooove that game but it's been sold out and I can't find a copy to own. It's thematically realistic and so much fun! Plus the designer, Vangelis Bagiartakis is probably the nicest guy in the hobby, he's got a heart of pure gold.

IIRC i recommend Kitchen Rush as an alternative at the end of the vid. Its a great game, the only reason i haven't covered it on the channel is the real time bits would be hard to show.

I'm not expecting a review but knowing your wargaming background, are you interested in the new Larry Harris game War Room? I missed the Kickstarter back in the day, but nabbed a copy from the publisher and it should arrive next week. I had been considering getting a copy of A&A but luckily heard about this "A&A 2.0" when it was delivered to backers.
