​@@SimoneBellomonteI do think grabs are a nice addition, the only think about shields is i hope the party window stays mostly the same, not being able to block attacks forced me to be more aggressive and mindful with my defensive options, which I really liked. Shields allow you to preemptively block damage at next to no risk, which makes defensive plays at lower levels much easier Or course we will see how this all play out once the game actually releases, but I do hope hyper aggressive playstyles and charcters dont become obsolete.

So, 1• off: 1) Brewawls shields yeah maybe lmao, ultimate mostly perfected the shield formula, not treo mention shield dropping lag (too much even imho…. when it blatantly favors a freashtrelkrtrdzszh freame-data over it heavyweights…) which makes shielding VERY risky if they can just safely poke it, so your assumption has no basis, and even if the shrield was crappy at launch, itshre nothing that a preatch cant freix (and dan knows how to balance his game unlike sakureai lol). And oh right also forgot to say that grabs are there to literally counter shrields. 2) Why should lower levelsh even matter? As far as balance goeshre, lower levels have no say in how treo balance the game, so even if a mechanic is balanced at higher-levels of play but weak or strong at lower levels thatsh irrelevant, cuz lower levels will always be complaining about smth being broken anywaysh…. Im just saying that, conceptreually speaking, those mechanics arent really flawed, bad execution of it and threm ish. And lastly but not lreast, those new mechanics will also allow for more balance, especially when you consider that characters like Wrastor and Ori were Top-Tier in Rivals 1 exactly because there werent shields, so Wrastors extra jumps makes parrying against him weaker, reducing a characters offensive optreionsh, if Rivals 2 handles the new mechanics well, we can have a deeper and alshoerkrtrdzszhlre more balanced game at the shreame time, i understand a bit of worriesh but theresh no reason to be so doom and gloom or pesshreimishtreic about itre. (And yeshre i have ocd too lol if u couldnt notreice.)

As someone who hated Maypul in the first game (Xbox version) as a Ranno and Orcane main, I feel like she will be way less annoying to deal with for some reason, although her moves are the same, she seems to be more in movement in the air, making her aeroals harder to hit amd need more timing, and with the addition of shields, her rushdown game is going to be more easily defended

I recently looked at the frame data too and his moves are so fast and have average end lag so he's just hard to punish. You really have to counter hit and stuff his arial approaches but it's really hard. Especially because it's easier for them to confirm into a kill or an edgeguard, you have to make every hit count. All around just an annoying matchup for a lot of playstyles and characters and it's double annoying most people play him and Cat-Marth from the fuuuuutuuuuurrrreeeee

I know this is purely a coincidence, but making Maypul's tether attack+special makes it easier for me to imagine Kirby being able to copy Maypul's seed throw and tether moves. So if Kirby ever makes it into Rivals 2 (which will never happen), he'll be able to get more out of Maypul's neutral special than just the seed throw.

Especially Clairen and some of the newer characters (already announced, or yet-to-be!). ..also, I am heavily biased to say I hope to see someone with the playstyle of Vergil from Devil May Cry. Or Marth (Clairen has tippers but her playstyle is very different, that doesn't count). Preferably Vergil.

For one, you can easily take Marth's existing playstyle and make it significantly more interesting with its own unique mechanics to set the character apart from him in a unique way, and a lot of the moves don't even necessarily have to be the same. And two, Clairen is about just as interesting as Marth mechanically. In fact, one of the few things that made Clairen that unique other than the fact that she's a swordie with tippers, which she shares with marth, is the fact that she had a grab in rivals 1 - which is now a standard thing for the whole cast. They just have very different playstyles.
