Hey guys! After I uploaded the video, I noticed and was informed by the comments section that there were a few details I missed when going over some of the mechanics, so in this pinned post, I'll be adding additional information as it's brought to my attention so let me know if I missed anything! Wrastor: -Wrastors wind stream is empowered after hitting anything, not just his opponents. Maypul: -If you special pummel Maypul while she has you marked, you get rid of her mark. -Maypul can choose to tether to either the left or right of an opponent by holding the direction while feathering. Orcane: -Orcane's grounded up special and special pummel also puts a puddle down if one isn't already down. Ranno: -Rannos rapid jap and strong attacks also applies poison. -You can get rid of Poison stacks by hitting Ranno with melee attacks. Multi-hits and jabs get rid of Poison exceptionally well due to this. -Performing normal or special attacks will cause you to take 1% of damage for each stack of poison applied.

Thank you for keeping it updated! Quick correction to Ranno's poison stacks: Special & Attack inputs will ONLY remove stacks of poison if you manage to hit Ranno or his shield. If you whiff, you're just taking damage and keeping the stacks. Clarification: The amount of damage done by poison is always 1%, regardless of how many stacks. The advantage to stacking more poison, aside from bubble duration, is that it will take more hits to remove the poison. If you're using single hits, and not having poison reapplied, you'll take a total of 4% damage to cleanse yourself. Another reason multihits are useful - you can cleanse full stacks and only take 1-2% instead. Also, it seems jab combos only count as 1 input and will only trigger damage once.

Some character specials are more easier to learn than others. Take for example, Fleet’s. The concept is literally simple, just hit the opponent with a stamina arrow. After 3 seconds it explodes and deals about 3-10% damage. What may not be known though is that -it is like hot potato in that it can be passed on if the opponent uses a non projectile attack on another player. -It is possible to damage two people at the same time from the explosion if their hitboxes are overlapping at the time of the explosion. -The explosion is combo-able -If the arrow misses, Fleet can run towards it (assuming no one else steps over it) she can pick it back up to restore one stamina -And lastly, Fleet can pick up other arrows from other Fleets to gain more stamina. Fleet’s ability is extremely easy to learn, but there are plenty of things to learn about it if you want to master using it.

Nice video! Small note, you don't have to mash B to break special pummels, you can just hold the appropriate button (as a general rule, this game tries to avoid mashing wherever possible)

OK I didn't think I was too interested in bird boy but I'll have to keep him in mind when I go through that playlist you linked at a later date. in action, I like seeing Maypul's plant theming :D and I already considered Orcane, which is funny because he's NOT in consideration as one of my characters in Fraymakers. Welltaro's just too cool :) I don't know if/when I'll get into this game (lots on my plate already) but this was definitely a big showcase of what great things this game has to offer.

Subbed! Excellent video! Clear and concise. I believe it was a major fumble for the game to release without character tutorials so I’m glad this exists.

Poison stacks also add one percent of self damage to afflicted opponents when they perform an attack, and you can hit Ranno to remove one poison stack per hit.

What guy above said, plus it’s effectively a single use Falco lazer from Melee. You can interrupt someone, and 9/10 times you’re approaching them with the move so they’ll fall back on a defensive habit when their move is interrupted (probably shield) and you can punish the defensive option

Wrastor's projectile will also bounce and create a slipstream off of Ranno's bubble, I'm guessing it would work on certain other objects too but I haven't tested any
@nickj357Ай бұрын
Also worth mentioning Ranno applies 2 poison stacks with all 3 of his strong attacks Also, poison doesn't just extend the duration of Toxic Trap. It also causes additional damage. Unlike Zetterburn though, it's not a simple damage over time effect - instead, a poisoned character takes damage every time they do an attack or special input. If you're poisoned, you remove 1 stack every time you hit Ranno or his shield (I think it has to be normals, or maybe only melee attacks. Projectile specials don't remove stacks). Multihit attacks are useful for quickly cleansing poison stacks
@austinjones7569Ай бұрын
@@nickj357do you know if Zetter’s shine counts as a melee attack?
@BlackLightAttackАй бұрын
@@austinjones7569 I just did some testing, yes Zetterburn's Shine will remove a poison stack when it hits. Seems the rule is that only melee attacks remove poison stacks, ranged attacks do not. Special or Normal doesn't matter. So for example, Zetter's Shine, Down Special, and Up Special (the charge up and the dash) all remove poison stacks. Zetter's Side Special does not remove any poison stacks, even his head hurtbox (interestingly enough. The head seems like it should be melee to me, maybe it's a bug). By comparison, Fleet's Up Strong and Forward Strong are projectile Normals and do not remove poison stacks. Interestingly, her Down Strong seems to count as melee and will remove a stack.

@dumlo4993Ай бұрын
It’s one of many movement techs he has and if he had to list them all it would take a while. This is a more simple explanation of every characters more unique tools and mechanics. For example he didn’t mention that zetterburn can get his double jump back using down-special
@GregInTechnicolorАй бұрын
@dumlo4993 The fact he gets bonus momentum in his dash turn around animation is pretty integral to his overall gameplan imho... It's a small thing to mention with massive implications in game.
@purplean1halfАй бұрын
It's important, but from the opponent's perspective I think you internalize that his smash attacks have extra slide range and learn to space around it. You just learn that over time, whereas puddle mechanics can be a total mystery without an explanation

This is a good format for a video. Not a guide on how to actually play each character, just an explanation of "what the hell is this guy doing??"

Maypul has a boost on her jump height whenever you use her up aerial on the right time, she has a shortened-reverse side B, Up B cancels on platforms, and if you hold left, right or up while you are tethering to an opponent you land on those corresponding directions.😶
