I never got into this series, but feel like I would like to at some point. Couple of things you were describing reminded me of some other games I really enjoyed that you might like(Tunic and Strange Horticulture)

@@GivenKittens I played a bit of Tunic and loved it. I'll have to check out Strange Horticulture. I haven't played that. It's a good time to get into the MYST series imo as they have remakes out of the original and Riven now so it's not so dated in 2024.

I still played the Original in 2018 i had the OG multi-disc set running on my old 2008 Vista gaming PC

5:04 - Seems like the Riven remake should have kept the original gameplay AND also throw in wanted improvements, and easier difficulties modes (OG mode, 'modern', Easy, HARD, sometimes changes in remakes aren't well-received like how not everyone enjoys the forced real-time combat in place of basically 'turn-based' combat of Final Fantasy 7 Remake.
