River Adur Betley Bridge After a Tench or Bream Thursday 20th June 2024

For my first session of the new river season I'm after a Tench or Bream in what turned out to be a very good session with a pb fish to start the new season off.

Best video yet Alan, I was almost as pleased as yourself, the river and fish looked in good condition. If you had been using micro barbed hooks you may have landed the other two fish! Really pleased with you letting the Bream go instead of putting them in the keepnet where they would have come out with split fins and tails, big fish like those two Bream deserve to be treated with respect, once again well done and tight lines on your next adventure. Thank you Graham really pleased you liked the video I totally agree about not putting the bream in the keep net especially in this warm weather it was a shame I lost a couple of nice fish as you say a micro barbed hook may have got them in I wonder what they were probably either a Tench or another Bream I'll never know now but I really enjoyed catching those two bream all the best with your own fishing mate👍

Perfect looking well conditioned Bream, well done. Good decision on the keepnet, just return the fish well away from where you're fishing. just a thought, wet towel always good for the fish and hands. A Tench always better than a Bream👍👍 Glad you had a good session.

Thanks Ray, yes I shall only use a keepnet if I'm fishing for small silver fish I do agree with you about the Tench being better than a Bream but I do like both though in my opinion Bream from the river are better than Bream from a commercial fishery they put up a decent scrap 👍

@@intercity735 And you can see the difference in the way the fish look. Just as others have said, leave the keepnet at home or just for matches. All the best !

well done on the PB mate. By the look of the fight from the fish that took you upstream, it was possibly a Tench, a small Carp or a foul hooked Bream. Happy Birthday from one Gemini to another mine is on the 16 June best day of the year.

Thanks mate both Gemini's yes could of been any of those fish you mentioned I think as David has just said possibly my clutch cost me those two fish never mind I was more than happy with what I caught.

Hi there, yes there are some spots where there are car parks for Henfield Angling Society like the Fork, the lock estate, Stretham bridge, and Sakeham all these places you can park your car and walk up the river if you wish to hope this helps and good luck with your fishing👍
