Don't ever second guess your channel's genre decision, you didn't just pigeon hole yourself into low hanging fruit, you took an obscure niche side of KZbin and blew it up into the mainstream by making the best videos of the kind. You weren't the first but you're hands down the best! And as an islander (& trucker) I'm loving how I instantly recognize every spot you've been to lately! This one in particular I wouldn't worry about seeing anyone on that trail outside of summer tubing season or fall salmon fishing season. Now I'm just waiting to see myself driving by in my truck in one of your videos! (sorry if I woke you up at 4am)

i support this content, but at the same time i can't wrap my head around stealth camper's desire to sleep among human waste and detritus. i'd never want to camp close to civilization or well travelled trails. paranoia of digging into someone else's cathole or stepping on their log has been an ocd of mine.
@Nathan_Johnson7723
@Nathan_Johnson7723 Жыл бұрын
@@cagneybillingsley2165 it’s not a stealth campers choice to camp near civilization but they have to make do with what’s around them. If Steve wanted to camp off the grid he could easily do that but this is a lot more accessible and takes less preparation.

@@hellogoodbye1748 it may not be a choice where someone stealth camps because they’re doing it out of desperation, but for Steve he’s doing this for fun so he puts himself in these close to civilization scenarios. If he wanted to camp off the grid he could do that but the average person stealth camping just to find a place to sleep isn’t going to look for an off the grid campsite they often end up under a bridge like Steve in this video.

Watching Steve stomp on those sticks for firewood made me realize why I really like his channel. It shows how easy camping can be. Steve has talked several times in the past about how little you need - a blanket, a sheet of plastic or a tarp, some food and water, and something to carry it in. After watching channels where they're camping with $800 in tents, sleep systems, backpacks, and cooking gear it's refreshing to come here and see Steve stomping on sticks for firewood.

Your camping videos take me back to what I did in my younger days. I'm 72 years old. In my 20's and 30's, I camped similar to this. I would camp in state and forestry parks locations that were not allowed. Most times, I didn't use a tent and had no fire. I left no trace that I was there. That was true camping. Your videos get me out there like the good old days. Thank you. If you're ever in the San Diego, Southern California area, look me up. I'll buy you dinner and talk about camping until we've both had enough.

4:44 Dude, this is my new favorite campsite. I love the contrast of a traffic laden concrete bridge covered in graffiti and the serenity of a mountain stream in the forest. You're well hidden from traffic and maybe even rain if the road bed is water tight. Not too much rain or snow melt, or you will be looking for higher ground. Lol
