Hi there! We spent the day on the Pollet River with our friend Rory, an accomplished canoeist and instructor and a truly great guy. I can't get over how enlightening this day was. I erroneously thought I had a reasonably decent grasp of basic techniques but what a difference just one day of training can do. Hope you enjoy, we had a whole lot of fun. I still have a whole lot to learn but I can't wait to head back out! Thank you so much Rory!

Hi Mike and Sandra. Thank you for the opportunity to share with you some maneuvers and canoe strokes to assist in your quest to become better paddlers. I look forward to having you join me on a proper course where there is so much more to cover. Folks, spending a day with these guys is so inspiring! What you see on their videos is the real deal- they are joyful, fun loving, adventurous people who enjoy sharing their love of the great outdoors. What a great couple! Be safe out there everybody!

Thanks Rory! It was really great, we'll definitely be joining you on a course in the future when the opportunity comes up. I'd been obsessively researching ultralight solo canoes, but now looking at T-Formex canoes for rivers😄! Thanks again man!

I'm so glad to see the both of you wearing your pfd's. It's early in the year and that water is probably ice cold. The two of you did an incredible job. I can't wait to see you back at the shelter soon.

Thanks for posting this. Your video is the rare one where the subtle music enhances the production. Many "outdoors" videos have canned music that is awful. I mute them. Not so, with yours! I appreciate your teamwork. Nice to see.

I was watching the instructor standing in his canoe and I thought “show off” and then you said “show off”. I laughed and laughed. Great job you guys. I did the Bowen Lakes in high school and but not much canoeing since then. I remember with two people that the hardest part was getting the language right so that we could communicate and follow the stern paddlers ideas and instructions.

Wow, nice job on the canoe. My dad and I were canoers way back. I canoed in Wyoming and Idaho. Nothing better than a quiet canoe journey with a few portages. You guys seem like naturals on the water!

Good job learning new skills. Time to look for a spray deck. Get more practice on small stuff until you are both more comfortable and then hit some bigger water !
