River City Girls Launch Day - First Impressions

I bought myself the switch physical edition from Play Asia but for some reason they had to delay the order am dying to play this game it’s so gorgeous the soundtrack is so good. I felt in love instantaneously with it love the art love the animation and seeing your previous video on the game I can se that way forward put a lot of love and care onto this game can’t wait to revive my copy

The game was a ton of fun for me. But the ending just ruined it all for me. I never thought that I would feel unfulfilled in a wayforward game.

True, the ending felt lacking even to newcomers, imo. I hope though the game gets extra content. Though overall, the game was still good all throughout.

The gameplay feels fun, so far, though, I've only just gotten outside of RC High, so, it's only going to get better from here on, with more options for beating people up becoming available. I just wondered why Misako and Kyoko had to get their designs changed to that they remind me of Blossom and Buttercup, of the Powerpuff Girls, and why Abobo looks... smaller than usual, but, that's nitpicking. This was going to be a day-one buy when I first saw the reveal trailer.

The color schemes are extremely Powerpuff Girly, it's hard to not think this is a crossover at times! (Although Kyoko's behavior isn't quite Blossom's). New skills and mechanics start to happen frequently after leaving RCH :)

The pixel graphics are not only beautiful but the hitboxes line up in ways that feel satisfying and make sense. A game with good graphics can be completely ruined if the actual mechanics behind them don't sync up with them well, but River City Girls nails it perfectly.

I loved everything about this game, but the story and that build up lead to nothing but a 4wall breaker really pissed me at the end.

Is there a scanline filter in the game or is this a PC version mod?
