Good work and excellent explanation Edwin. I wish we could convince landowners that digging out gravel is damaging and only destabilises rivers further. This is exactly the sort of approach that we encourage but sadly, find resistance to. Keep up the good work.

I fished the salmon river in Pulaski NY they had done the exact same thing

How do you prevent the trees in the river from getting washed down in floods after all there just sitting there on river bed

Seamus, thanks for the question. We use machinery to bury the trunks into the river bank. So while it looks as though the root plates are just sitting there, they are well dug in.
