In 2019 on a trip to Hawaii I got our one Weir jar "Kealekekua Kanning Ko. Kealekekua, Kona,-Hawaii T.H. with the initials. It's about a half gallon cap'y with the cover and hardware. I found my first whole Gilka in '19. In an 1860s-1894 area. Saw so many frags in '09-'10. Never found a pistol, found the brass trigger guard of a musket or harpoon gun? You've got a great hole going there, my first & only Paine's in Town in '19. I found some of those shield beer toppers "Rainier" which was brewed on Queen st. in Honolulu 1905-20. All the bottles say "Seattle Brewing & Malting" none of the stuff I've seen has reference to Hawaii, unlike their California branches. First whiskey was a Duffy, later 6. Found one damaged W.C. Peacock Hawaiian whiskey in 2019. Too beat to display. I have bought & finagled the available Hawaiian whiskies. Imported for C.L. Richard's Honolulu S.I. is 2 known, c1858.

There were other 19th-century businesses in Pittsburg on that long, narrow strip between the railroad tracks and the Allegheny river. Between 1862 and 1872, the Keystone Planing Mill was built on the site where the Groetzinger tannery would rise in about 1882. When it folded in the late 1890s, the building was acquired by the Lutz & Schramm Co., which made pickles, sauces, preserves, fruit butters, baked beans and catsup -- just like its competitor H J Heinz down the road. Lutz & Schramm (late 1890s - 1925 ---) pottery jar with (glass ?) lid and wire (metal band ?) bail.

This is a keeper. THE BALL (arched) is oldest of capital lettered BALL jars before start of Ball signature jars 1893. This BALL fits into the same cross over period of a prior BALL PERFECT MASON with staggered embossing in that earliest of 1890s from some of the older Ball Bros plant acquisitions and having them producing these models, ... while the newer plants and newer acquisitions from 1893 and later transitioned and made the Ball signatures thereafter.

I bet those sodas tasted so much better than the corn syrup flavored crap that's made now. The throwback made with real sugar sodas are so much better than the stuff they push on us now but still not the same as I remember them being in the 70's. I feel the same way about the cereals they make now too. Bring back the real old school coke!! lol. Get people moving again. No wonder people got more work done in the past they were all zooted up. LOL! Just like people being prone to addiction to opiates since you could just get it whenever you needed it back when it must be in our DNA from our ancestors. Anyway, keep on digging. I look forward to your weekly videos with the diggin action. Your auction videos notifications always get me excited then I see they're the auction. I have enough stuff anymore I'd be called a hoarder.

Yup I agree on the soda. When Coke announced they were changing the formula, I was in Atlanta mid 80s. My buddies & I bought all the cases of the real coke, we could afford. Alas it eventually ran out. But there was nothing like that old coke burp, that made your nose burn!!! All the sodas are crappy now, even my old Dr Pepper. Fructose sucks as a sweetener.

@@CrickDiggersInc I did some searching. 1) There's a butt-ton of Wards in that area, including some famous decoy makers. 2) The only W E Ward I encountered was a William Ward 1869-1949, apparently no descendants and only one brother (in my source). Listed in the 1930 census an a merchant and confectioner. 3) There was W. E. Ward Oyster Co. In Crisfield. There was a branded can on an auction.

QUESTION.... how far from the center of that town or city are you? Can you tell me what city/town you are near? I am searching an area near Indianapolis which is just 3 miles from a (then) country town now a major suburban city. Near a 100 year old recreation park near that country town. The medal looks like it has the winged figure of victory at the top. Right arm up, left pointing out to the side. It was on some British medals. Haven't seen one with a banner going down like that. Could be a school medal or maybe something sold to folks to raise money during the war? Total guess on that last bit.
