Cheers piker. They are certainly an interesting fish to target. I’ve struggled to find many on the Avon this year but the Severn has been kind. Picked up a couple of jig flies so those pike can look out when the river drops again. Tight lines for the new year. 👍

What gear are you using, if you don’t mind me asking? Are you tying braid direct to the hook, I can’t quite make out what the trace material is made from on my phone.

A mix of everything if I’m honest. Sometimes a fluorocarbon leader, sometimes wire and other times direct. If pike are more common for that area I definitely fish with a small wire trace. Rods a 9ft 10-30g. Reels normally a shimano stradic. It’s pretty much my sea bass setup but works well on the big rivers. Cheers for watching. 👍
