I'm intrigued why there are quite as many different tunnel profiles in such a relatively short and new section: everything from the classic egg through the classic sphere to the chamfered corners square box. I imagine the last might be to do with supporting what's above, but eggs is eggs is best isn't it?

Was this done for HS1/Eurostar or for the 1st Thameslink programme or both? The original Thameslink station was the other side of Kings Cross, now the station with a new tunnel is within St Pancras itself

Great videos, thanks for posting them. Where abouts Is this new section ?? Is it near farringdon station as i believe i read they did work to the fleet whilst redoing the station for thameslink projects and cross rail.
