River Garry: 11th October 23

First fish through pool following the floods...
much changed at the top and significant gravel infill to the middle deep section.
Really strong winds and soft sand bank causing me to slip just as the fish took the fly
Beautiful, hard fighting 13lb autumn salmon.

Nice film. Without looking 2 stupid which Garry is it. The loch Garry one ? I fish that one for pike above loch. Historically a great spring river but now done. Thanks.

Looks like the Junction Pool. I fished the other bank the next day (without result!)

At this height its difficult to cover the fish lying close in to the right bank from the middle to tail - frustrating!

Hi Fraser, its a net I made myself to suit carrying around my waist - needs the fish to present as a torpedo which can be a challenge!

The right bank is Shierglas and Tenandry - don't think its too expensive but difficult to find availabilty as there is a waiting list for a weeks fishing . Further down is the Atholl Estates beat which has more availabilty.
