I hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday season! It's been quite wintery here in Nashville, so "River" seemed like a fitting cover. I was excited to work out an acoustic guitar arrangement for this song, and we tried to stay true to some of the original piano melodies. Emily took the camera for the day and did some adventure filming around town. We used footage from that throughout. Hope you all enjoy!

This has to be the most beautiful covers of Joni Mitchell's River. The song is so haunting but the delicate sweet harmonies and acoustic accompaniment is just beautiful...this song used to just represent sadness for me and generally how I felt at every Christmas, but you have done something very special here.

As well i am a HUGE joni mitchell fan. I have never heard a joni mitchell cover that did her justice... this is the first joni cover i have heard in my life that i could listen to over and over again and appreciate it just as much the 200th time i listened to it , as i would the first time i played this version. MAGICAL. this cover hits me in the gut just like the original.

doug h I totally agree with you about covering Joni. For me Joni's songs just have a certain magic to them that can't be captured in a cover but these three created their own magic which comes across really well. Having 3 voices brought something new and they really hit it out of the park for me.

Very, very good cover, in fact exceptional and wonderful harmonies! I do have a request (if you know it) or maybe could learn it would be British folk singer/songwriter, Richard Thompson's song called, "The Dimming of the Day." It's a great song and you can find it on KZbin. You can find it with him singing it solo and also there is videos on KZbin singing it with his ex-wife, Linda Thompson. It has also been covered by others but Richard Thompson wrote the song.

I have always maintained that if you do a 'cover' then you need to bring something fresh to it. I first heard Joni Mitchell in early 1970 and have been a lifelong fan ever since whilst being fairly dismissive of most artists who covered her work. This cover of River is one of only two I have heard that blow me away. The other is by Tina Dico & Helgi Johnsson performed live in 2012. Well done to all.
