River Quest - Pursuit of the elusive Pike

With the Rivers finally going down after the floods, I decided to spend the last Pike Fishing session of 2023 on a very productive river with plenty of Pike in. conditions were testing with 50mph winds and lots of rain, but that didn't stop us!

Merry Christmas buddy I’ve been watching you for about 3 months and my pb pike was only 10lb but 3 weeks ago I was fishing an old Secret lake that my son showed me he had been lure fishing all years and said he had seen some big girls around but not had anything out so we set off on a mission down there three weeks ago, and I caught a new pb of 24lb it was amazing so I tried a few more times and blanked six times and then me and my son returned there today on a mission and my son had a big beautiful girl and new pb 24lb 5oz hes over the moon and can’t believe he’s luck 🎣🐟he’s only 14 and played the big girl like a pro 🎣one very proud dad today 🎣

Loving your videos m8 well done I’ve just subbed Reminds me of the days when I used to fish the Severn with steep muddy banks I used to use some securely tied rope to make things safer save slipping into the flow with one of those corkscrew dog anchors maybe get yourself one fishing by yourself better safe than sorry Lovely fish 🎣 tight lines

Merry Xmas mate, this river the fish move frequently so staying in one peg works best, if I don't know the river then I'll move every hour.

Great video what size reel and lines do you use ? I have a couple 10 foot medium heavy rods can I use those for pike or to heavy ?

I mainly use Shimano 14000 ultegras loaded with 50lb braid , medium/heavy rods are perfect for deadbaiting.
