Hi TOM, the last angler you filmed fishing stick float was me, quite unique really seeing I was using an old diawa rod signed by ,well you know who,and a 1970,s abu 506 loaded with 2-6 kamasan bayer perlon, LoL , most who fish the stretch now use bull rope, anyway thanks for filming me and tight lines.

Tommy, the last few pegs at the bottom and those opposite at not Scunthorpe water. They are Nottingham Piscatorial Society.

Tommy, just to clarify those last pegs shown through the gate are not Scunthorpe Anglers waters but Nottingham Piscatorials waters.

Refreshing to hear a top flight angler speak so enthusiastically about what should be the drive of all anglers. It's not all about beating the anglers around you.

The Island in front of you is called Nabbs Island if i remember. The other side is Hazelford/Hazelford Ferry and Fiskerton. There used to be a pub called the Star and Garter were we used to do the draws for matches on that side.I also seem to remember a caravan that used to sell bait parked on Boat Lane as you came down to the river. Always went in the pub after the match for a pint and announment of winners/sections and pools. Great days.

Its Nabs island Tommy. We fished it a lot I ran club matches from Huddersfield on it. one day we squeezed 21 pegs in no a lot of room my mate Adam Jaffe was just above me. I payed 7 anglers that day with myself put 98lbs on the scales and never picked a penny up magic days fishing. Anglers talk about waters being black with fish one day we arrived and the bottom peg you honestly could have walked across the backed of the Chub it was few dropping.

Used to love fishing it Tom, but it gets so hammered I gave the ticket up and joined Newark instead. Couldn't get a peg half the time :(

Looks amazing. The weirs on the Thames are static and the new weed growth looks like its been in a hot bath of acid. You dont know how envious i am. Tightlines

I used to fish it in my late teens, when it was a day ticket water. Used to put a feeder into the reeds on far bank and it was a chub a chuck easily go through a gallon of maggots years ago great memories.

The best thing to do when you find some phenomenal river fishing is to blab it all over the internet. We (including the fish) will all benefit from the increased pressure. After all, it's all about raising your profile and flogging your product.

I've fished it for 15 years and idiots like you putting it on KZbin has meant gross overfishing by a lot of idiots hauling heavy leads into water that should be stick float fished during the summer months.

Calling one of the greatest anglers of all time an idiot is uncalled for. And what difference do the feeder/bomb lads make to us stick float anglers? I'm quite happy to be surrounded by bomb lads as I run a stick float through, nothing gives me more pleasure.
