I fish it, usually further upstream near the old paddling pool. Cracking venue and the scene of some big events in years gone by and packed every weekend in the late 80s. If you weren't there at first light you couldn't get a peg. Waggler, stick and pole all do the business on there day

Fabulous blast from the past. Loved fishing the Embankment in the late sixties / early seventies when we were kids. An absolute travesty that the Council have now banned parking on the Victoria Embankment 😒

Hi Chris, lots of Roach in the trent at the moment and looks promising for bigger ones over the next few years. Bigger ones are there but harder to catch because of the clearer water. Check out my other film outside the Forest ground. Thank you for watching 🎣👍

Wow, blast from the past mate. We used to spend nearly every day of our 6 week holiday there.. Good times.Wonder what happened to the Irishman who was always there hey Kev.. The 90 bus lol.. Shouting 90 and trying to get ready for the bus with all our fishing tackle haha.. We got those bigger Roach on the opposite side though on hemp, tare on the hook and fished a lot deeper cos it's depper straight off that side.. Something like 10ft if I remember. Was always packed with people fishing every few metres, always wondered why there is hardly anybody there now. Thought it was just less popular with Video games nowadays. I would have come and said hello if I had known you were there mate. Great Video by the way

Long time since I fished the Trent,Muriel Whitmore had the Burton Joyce stretch near the Nelson pub.Grand days then,fished on the Rack trotting a stick,loads of fish.Your vid brought my memories back.Special.🤩

Hi, I used to fish it in the 70s when I played the pubs in Nottingham....I was ledgering worm once in the middle when something picked up the worm and moved off very slowly with it against the river flow towards the pedestrian bridge. I couldn't turn it's head , it just kept motoring on, God knows what it might have been, it felt very heavy.. I can only guess it might have been a very big Carp...What do you think ?

Yes, probably a Carp but could have been a Barbel. Lots of big fish in the Trent.

So heres a few questions, how deep is it along that stretch. And can you fish the opposite bank free too. And is there parking nearby. I may have trouble if i cant stick a rod rest in the concrete lol.

Parking is awkward,, some is free, paid,, some restricted and changes weekly,, better off contacting the Council for parking info. Some pegs you can get a bank stick in the gap but not all. Yes you can fish the other bank for free. More videos out soon including tonight at 5pm. Depths vary 5 to 10 feet.

Hi, approx 1/2 mile from the Train Station. Trent Bridge is quite snaggy so don’t fish too close with feeder/bomb. Barbel anglers would generally fish further upstream in between the Suspension bridge and Wilford tram bridge. Still free fishing.
