An awesome video exposing the total hypocrisy, and not so hidden agendas, of certain politicians and organisations. Well done Dave Roberts on speaking out and telling the actual truth.

Hello Dave excellent Presentation, a man after my own heart. This is not a recent type of event. Many years ago living in Stoke on Trent as a young lad adventuring on the River Trent at Norton Bridge the river suddenly became very filthy, cloudy and disturbed. Dead fish floating down. I managed to rescue a Gudgeon and took it home, put it in an aquarium to recover. I kept this fish for several weeks then took it back to freedom some time later broke my heart to see all the wildlife of the river decimated like that and it seemed no one cared except me. That was 55 years ago. Regards Graham

Sometimes ago I tried to get help to clean up a huge build up of rubbish behind a fallen tree on the river Arrow. No one was interested. I'm afraid talk is cheap, & there is a lot of it. Well done for your report on this spillage. Best wishes & happy new year.

Dont expect much from EA , pollution has wiped out the majority of coarse fish from miles of the River Tyne and they blamed high rainfall.

Wonderful explanation and so well said.I've lived on the banks of the river Wye all my life and is brimming with wildlife and fish.There is certainly a hidden anti animal farming agenda going on with many of these groups jumping on the bandwagon. Keep up the good work !

I used to do a 250 mile round trip from Chester to Hereford to fish the Belmont stretch regularly, but haven't been for a couple of years due to pollution issues. Have packed up coarse fishing in favour of sea charter boats .......I refuse to give the E.A. my licence money anymore while they continue to turn a blind eye to the truly disgusting state of our rivers. Brexit certainly cut the red tape regarding pollution. Great vid btw, have subscribed.

Yes highly disengenuous and most disappointing that these bodies AND local MP cannot recognise and address this. Wonderful pike ...and as an angler since 1972 I remain angry and frustrated that pollution issues are 'undercarpeted with a number of brushes' Time for a national rod licence strike? Another example of total disregard for the environment, a complete disgrace. The thing is, water companies don’t care, it would seem that their attitude towards this is, fine us if you like, we’ll just recoup this money by putting up water bills. I live in the Cherwell area, the river and canal that runs through Oxfordshire has depleted in water quality, its destroyed fishing, wildlife and the vegetation that oxygenates the water. I’ve been an angler for 45 years, I’ve never known it to fish so badly. Because of the lack of action against these arseholes that cause this utter neglect, it will only get worse. Very sad.

Great video, its a great pity that these organisations don't do the job they profess to want to do, its like they have totally ignored the incident, disgraceful and shameful, how can those people be taken seriously after this, its incredible. Cracking Pike they're big old girls fair play, they're not short of food looking at the fish, excellent piece of angling.

The real people who understand riverine disturbance are the folk who are on the system, watching, observing and collecting data day in day out, year in year out and anglers and some concerned ecologists are the only people doing that. This will be a big shock to gov.uk EA

Bang on dave there always straight onto blaming the farming/agricultural industry as are the keyboard warriors 🤷♂️ but just as you've shown its not!! Surely any drains around an industrial site should be directed away from any major river system? Sadly it never will

I used to fish the Wye on a regular basis, but not so for 5+ years, instead now choosing to fish other rivers out of personal preference and distance. Despite being aware of you Dave and watching the occasional video, I haven’t really followed you enough to fully understand your views on the river. Do you believe that the massive increase in poultry farming on the Wye catchment has had no negative impact on the river? To this end are you happy for it to continue to expand, with the subsequent and increased chicken manure, spread along the immediate Wye catchment as fertiliser? We know that the land can’t absorb it all and as a result the phosphate runoff into the river is significant.
@marksaunders7956 күн бұрын
This could, and should of been traced on the day, pretty easy, follow the surface water system back, lifting manholes until the oil free one is found, Used to do this stuff many years ago for Welsh Water, The EA are an absolute disgrace, with this sort of obvious pollution and still not doing enough, as for predation this is why the river is under pressure
@robshaw36554 күн бұрын
The Angling Trust have pioneered a Water Quality Testing network across several major rivers. Is that happening on the Wye and the section you say is thriving and is it showing that water quality is suffering against EA accepted levels?. Having fished the same stretch of river for 40 years its difficult to assess if water quality is the primary factor. Different species seem to disappear for a while then reappear. The chub and barbel have generally got bigger but not numerous in all the changes in coarse species the trout and grayling have been a fairly constant. There are other factors like the frequency of flooding that have historical records to see if that has been a factor. There are a lot of people and organisations chasing votes and funding it is difficult to know who or what to support ..but its good to call out the hypocrisy or lack of interests... On the same stretch of river ive seen more kingfishers, goosanders, mink otters cormorants, egrets and herons than i can previously recall..Definitely had a few years when the streamer weed disappeared but that is making a come back.

@@johncraddock3018No. I’ve highlighted a massive and sudden pollution incident which could have been catastrophic. The sort of incident that has happened whilst many are looking in the wrong direction, completely obsessed with corporate poultry money. And now it’s happened, their silence speaks volumes. Like I say, I’m pretty sure you’ve got a claim in too.
