Out of all the Heather songs Riverdale did, this is the only one where the singers voices (and acting in the actual scene) conveyed the appropriate amount of emotion the song lyrics call for! I love both the movie and musical of Heathers and this is the only song that they show covered that I have nothing bad to say about and didn't make me cringe with how the scene or choreo played out. Though I gotta say I liked how they made Our Love is God relate to the cult instead of a romantic thing, that was creepy af and very clever!
