Wow, I initially thought that giant salamander was a hellbender at first. I'm assuming they're pretty similar both being giant salamanders and it's very rare to see one in the wild (at least Ozark hellbenders, which are classified as endangered last I checked), just inhabiting different parts of the globe.

Yes, similarly adapted species in different parts of the world probably, like convergent evolution. I'm in PA and I love herps so i know of the hellbender salamander. It's always a treat to watch Jeremy Wade, he's a legend. We must all do what we can and let our elected reps, (it's easy to do a search and find yours) know how important it is to keep our rivers and streams pristine and to not pollute them, or build dams that keep the fish from reproducing. Or these River Monsters will all soon be a thing of the past.

His most amazing catch to me, was his Muskie, at Eagle Lake... On a straight tied jig, and 6lb mono. 30+ days of straight fishing for muskies, doesn't catch one, until after he relents and makes his tobacco offering.

River monsters is the least clickbait show ever. It was rare he didn’t catch what he set out to catch (as they probably / obviously didn’t show the failures) but compared to other discover / animal planet shows u always got something interesting
