Great coverage. Thank you. The main local and national news broadcasts are pretty much camped out in the towns that are affected and repeat the same footage everyday. Wow, this is unbelievable. Thanks for posting your videos for other people to see. You can't get this comprehensive coverage on CBC, CTV and Global or the main TV media. They only give short little snippets. It's Sunday evening here in Vancouver and from what I've heard, we have a major rain storm coming again in a few days. What a catastrophe and I just pray it doesn't get much worse.

Water takes 3 days from the day it begins to fall to filter through the ground, into a stream, then into the rivers. When the hills and mountains are clear cut, the water will only take 6 to 12 hrs to enter the river system. This is what creates mudslides. The term "Clea cut" is misleading. The truth in clear cut areas is any tree less than 12 inches across, any bush or vegetation in the way is KNOCKED OVER and left where it has fallen. When the loose dirt beneath the debris begins to move the loose vegetation comes down hill and removes everything in its path, at white water speeds. This isn't global warming, this IS the result of human greed and mismanagement of resources

how are the salmon ? what happens to the fish?
@wandervisionYT3 жыл бұрын
Most of the salmon have finished spawning by mid Nov. So the majority were able to complete their cycle. There are special spawning channels that are protected from the flood water and I’ve seen many fish still alive there, which is a good sign for their eggs in those same channels.

I hope some regular BC fishing enthusiasts can speculate for us how they think the fish are handling all this and perhaps what might be happening to the spawning beds? used to fish the Chilliwack and the Vedder years ago and this makes me so heartsick. It can't be good all up and down the riverine systems.
