Rivers In The Desert - Persona 5 - Nola Klop Cover

A new cover finally!! Finishing my mixes has been a struggle for a while now, I'm going through a bit of a phase where I get sick of my own voice real fast (probably because I have to work with it almost every day..) which makes me unable to focus on anything other than what I don't like about my voice and then a spiral of insecurity ensues...^^' which of course doesn't help when I have to edit and mix most of my singing and voice-acting myself..
I'm still looking for a professional to do my mixing for me, but it's hard to find someone available with the same artistic taste and one that I can afford as well x'D any tips?
My friend Roy requested this badass song though so I finally got over myself and decided this cover was finished :)
Had some fun playing around with a harmonizer and some other effects for a more robotic feel to the vocals. Hope you like it! ^_^
Know that I really am working on new videos and am still very passionate about singing ♥
It's just the editing and mixing that's been dragging me down a bit, but it'll get better again :)

Nola. I was just reading this and I never get tired of your voice. Each time you sing you put emotion into it so it feels different with every song. you do such an amazing job making it have different feels for different songs. To some it sounds the same but to me you sound like your there, either fighting or playing. The way you sing shows how you feel

Off topic from the cover. I so get what you mean that you go a phase where you don't like your own voice. I have the same thing I still don't like the sound of my own voice. And I'm still insecure what other people think about it. (new people I meet or even people in the voice over business) It's always inside your head. Other people like/love your voice but you hate it yourself. And get insecure about it. Which doesn't work with voice over. Any emotion projects on your voice. I so understand how you feel. Just look at it this way. You get hired from doing voice acting/singing so people do like your voice. You have 44k+ subs. So again people love it. Now you should love it yourself! Hang in there :) On topic.... Amazing cover, emotion, power, editing everything is on point... respect!! I don't know the official song. But this could be the official deal to me.

Heh you're right! I hadn't noticed the amount of dislikes before! Not sure why this video in particular tho, it's one of my better covers imo lol xD I really wished KZbin would require viewers to comment when they downvote something. ​@@nolaklop 0:40 You might want to ease on the dynamic when you sing "moment." It's a little too powerful as well as vibrato that happens there. It's good, but just need to lessen it just a tad a bit. Same deal when you sing "over" in 1:10. I can't speak for the people who disliked your video, but I feel that the issue might be with your mixing and how you're harmonizing your vocals. It sounds very much like you're just using a harmonizer to cover the harmonies for you instead of singing a second track to go along with it. It's either that, or you got some really funky synthesizer that kind of ruins your voice. P.S. I'm not a professional by all means, but I do take song writing as a hobby. I haven't been working on anything in a LONG time because of school. By the time I finally return home, I'll probably work on setting up a studio so I can get back to the swing of things. I think it would be cool if we could get in touch and talk more about music if you're interested. :3

@@Luka-Noctiluka Thanks for your feedback, I appreciate it!! :) The things you mentioned are definitely a matter of taste, I personally like those moments on "moment" and "over" because I felt an overall powerful vocal (apart from the bridge) fit my cover of the song in my personal opinion. You're definitely right that it's a harmonizer, I'd normally record backing vocals more organically, but for this cover I wanted a more 'robotic' sound so I used a harmonizer. It doesn't ruin the voice in my opinion, just gives a different effect. :)

Incase ya wondering, why the city I come from in the North East of England, quite close to Newcastle is called; “Sunderland” it’s because our geographical position is at the very end of The River Wear, the river splits both sides of the city into a “Sunder” as if you’ve torn apart a piece of paper.
