Looking at that game footage, I'd say there's some magic involved with the blood spray/splatter. It's not spreading out like liquid flung from a blade irl. It's coming off the blade in straight lines. It's a *lot* of blood, too, lol 😅!

Try putting a ziploc bag full of colored water around the handle with two straws allowing the liquid to flow down the sides of the blade, works great. Or better yet, colored corn syrup or chocolate syrup

Not a spoiler per se, i jsut have to reccommend that when you do get aroudn to playing the DLC Tyranth; that you try the 'great katana', it's a new weapon and it's amazing. You can also get it almost immediately. I used it for the WHOLE dlc pretty much.

On the off chance you're looking for suggestions for future weapons to test from the chat, I recommend Brutus's Spear from the movie The Secret Of NIMH. Now it is a very old animated movie, not very well known I grant you, but it's a great movie in my humble opinion well worth a watch and I think the weapon itself is pretty cool and might be fun to test. Its also an electrified spear. Food for thought.

The density of droplets on the target is going to follow a distribution somewhere between inverse linear and inverse square, closer to inverse linear. The farther the droplets travel, the farther apart they get, is all. You could always paint “blood” on the blade, or cerakote it for better durability. If I was going to do either I’d etch the blade first where the color was going to go in order to help avoid it getting scraped off.

So, about the spin... In the context of a static target, the spin is just unnecessary. However, let's say you got blocked/parried in the second swing, then that spin could be more justified as you would then be going with the recoil and circling around to offend again- which is easier than stopping the recoil and initiating another strike from scratch. Also, that spin is just performed wrong by the player character. The back part of the spin should still be attack time, or at least be moving to the side to try to get around the enemy's guard. That is not how you do a spinning attack irl without getting guaranteed backstabbed.

The reason your blood slash didn't work well is simple. You need RIVERS of blood for that technique to work of course, you simply didn't pile enough corpses to get the required volume.

I think you did a disservice to the special... You should hook up a constant feed of blood coming from the grip say a pump pushing into a tube up the grip opening up on the blade, point the blade down letting it flow down the blade
