This MV is a huge middle finger. 😂 The guys deliberately crammed every negative comment and stereotype about kpop into one video. Kpop songs are too vibrant and colorful? Okay, they used every single color in the MV they could think of. Jhope too childish? He wears Bugs Bunny. Suga's skin is too white! There you go, Snow White on his cloths. During one of his live talks RM was told not to use the filters, hence the snapchat filters on him. Same with V's glasses. Too Americanized? They dance in hanbok, tradicional Korean clothing in tradicional Korean buildings to African beat... Full of Korean elements like the Moon Rabbit, the Lion dance... And so on and so on. Every single picture and scene is there for a reason. 😁

You could just check out BTS IDOL explained by a Korean if you're lost cause this mv is deeper than you might think at first glance. This is BTS kind of showing how extra K-pop mv's can be while hitting back at people who say they're becoming westernized. It's like them saying they're proud of their Korean culture and will continue to be themselves. Real. Yeah thanks.

Kelsey Riley yass but its a typical reaction of people that didnt understand the real intention and meaning of this video!! But is understandable im not gonna judge them for that. Its just whenever i see a reaction of Idol i just get disapointed bcs its a video that simply dont deserve just a superficial check, u really need to do a huge ass background research for this to impact in the way it was meant!!! A lot of references of their culture were made and a lot of simbolic/hiden meanings too. The artistry just goes beyond of what it seems. With no ofence this is a way too complex mv for a random reactors mind!!!

I love your honest oppentions. Like you said there is a lot going on in the video. One reason is because they have a lot of Korean metaphors. They also pic fun at a lot of the negative things people have said about them. Like when Jimi with the fan. People say that he's not masculine enough or other things so he added that in there. One other one is when Jhope is dancing with that blow up man, people have compared him to that because he is always dancing. Personally when i first heard the song, it was not my favorite either. One of my favorite songs from is For You. It's a beautiful song that just took my breath away. If you do watch you there is the dance version and the "story" version both are great, but if you want to see their dance check out the dance version first

There's a lot in this song to digest for sure. The scenes here are pretty full of info, like the filters RM had were a reference to people telling him to not use filters in his streams. The Snow White shirt Suga had was because people tell him he looks to pale and sleepy all the time. V walking through a crowd of people mimicking what it's like for him when he's recognized in public. The dozens of copies of their faces referencing people saying there's too many of them or that they all look the same. Even the title, saying that this is what Idol life is like. But it's also an empowering song, people can't stop them from loving themselves. They don't care about titles anymore, or the hate that comes their way.

I love y'alls honesty. I was the same when I first heard the song and I like BTS. It's didn't grab me right away and the video was so busy. But once I saw live performance videos, I ended up loving it. And that's the beauty of music, everyone likes different stuff. And BTS is a group that has a song for everyone. Love your reactions Xx

Appreciate the honesty. Not everything is for everyone, but one thing I love about BTS is that they cover so many diferent sounds you might not like this but there might be something else you will... Idol I feel especially with people who don't know BTS as much might be kinda shocking to them and I mean even for Army themselves, the vid has so many hidden meaning also lyrically... anyways can't weight for another BTS reaction :D

BTS are bigger than and outside of the box with regards to the Kpop industries standards it's why their rise in S. Korea only started recently. Knets want cute concepts not people who challenge them to think, which is what BTS does. Good reaction.

This was one of my least favorite BTS songs first listen (they have a lot to rnb songs in their albums, but they’re never the title tracks unfortunately) but after listening to the whole album twice, the song eventually grew on me. And there’s a lot of symbolic imagery in this video, I find a new reference every time I watch the video. Also, I love how honest y’all are in your reactions and I loved your clip at the end, y’all looked gorgeous.

I think you are all very talented btw, always love the little clips at the end which showcase your vocal abilities. Idol is not everyone’s cup of tea, its not mine, but as I learn more about certain aspects of the MV and the reasons why they did the video that way, I appreciate it more. I get what you are saying about it being a lot. It was a lot for me too, and honestly took me a couple listens to like the song. However, there is a lot of Korean cultural references and touching on what people think being an idol is and the stereotypes that go along with being an idol. Also, the lyrics also follow their message of loving oneself. However, whether you guys do a reaction to it or not, I would recommend listening to the B side tracks on their albums. RM even said in a recent live stream that the title track isn't always his favorite or people's favorite sonically. And that the title track is made with the performance in mind. So he was saying, and in my opinion too, that the B-sides shows their true colors even more and is more of music a person would just listen too. Anyways, I like your guys reaction and the way you guys aren't afraid to say if you don't like something but are still able to acknowledge and appreciate! Much Love💜
