The moment I saw "Wildflower - Park Hyo Shin", my heart skipped a beat! Finally, a reaction to a masterpiece from a master vocalist! The serene reaction of rIVerse paid a proper genuine homage, tribute to Park Hyo Shin!! You don't have to understand the lyrics to appreciate the music.. A great first reaction!! Oo.. and thank you, Georgia for requesting. This song is also gives a #BWVL vibe to it..

Thank you so much for reacting to him 💗💗💗. Fun fact. The audio is completely live in this MV. Park Hyo Shin has had a pretty sad life story. This song is about his life (he helped write it) and how, despite the brutal winter he’s been through, he’ll blossom in the end.

that was live vocal record for MV not studio. He almost always cries because this song is all about his hardship he had to go through since he was 20 or something. He almost died performing because his agency wouldn't let him rest and keep booking shows for him to perform then he wouldn't give his share correctly then when he decided to leave that company sued him and he lost and had to pay almost $700k. He filed for bankruptcy and he went to his military service. He wrote this song in the bathroom because that's only thing he could do. When he got out of the military he recorded this song with his friend who was stationed same base. This is his hardship and rising back up again. He doesn't like to perform this song because it makes him too emotional. That's what i heard. LOL

Park Hyo Shin is my favorite singer. He is amazing! In this song, he sings about himself, the hardships he passed through in life to be a singer and stay strong after losses. He was exploited and hospitalizated, for example. So, whenever he sings this song, he doesn't act to pass emotion, no, he feels the emotion, and often cries while singing (you can find many live performances that show it). So, the Wildflower isn't about lovers, the Wildflower is about himself. He is a flower that bloomed even in hard conditions. He is a beautiful singer. Thank you for your reaction.

🙋🙋🙋 *PLEASE! Spare me a minute* Wild Flower tells about how he bloomed in the industry after years of struggles and hardships. There was a period in his career that definitely took a toll on him. He was in dispute with his agency (issues about overwork and earnings). Because of his past sufferings and conflicts with his past agencies, he recieved tremendous amount of stress and trauma. During that time, he was diagnosed with *Dysphonia* , it's an uncurable neurological disorder that makes him have difficulties in control of his vocal cords, mouth, tongue and throat. Hence, the noticeable raspiness or hoarseness on his voice in this song. It may look like singing is effortless to him as well as if he was in complete control of his vocals and breathing, I'm sure that it was hard on him. But because of his love for singing and his fans, he was able to continue his passion. He often cry at his concerts because he's really grateful to the love he receives. He's a softie. :") No one can sing "Wild Flower" as emotional and powerful like Park Hyo Shin. Because the song's essence is him. He rarely performs or appear on television so when he made a live mv version of this, *it was really special* . 💕 (Sorry for the long comment. I really admire Park Hyo Shin and this is only a small thing that I could do for him to show support and gratitude for being an inspiration to many.)

I'm always surprised that so many kpop fans request this song to be reacted to, because in general international fans aren't that into ballads. I think it really speaks to the ridiculously high quality performance by Park Hyoshin that even years after the release, international kpop fans are still requesting it and interested. That's not to say that being popular internationally is what qualifies it as good, but there's something to be said for capturing the interest of a group that usually isn't interested in your style of music. I actually like that the first time you watch the MVs or performances you don't have the subtitles on. I feel like a lot of times people get distracted by them and it takes them out of the song/MV/experience, because there's just too much to focus on at that point. I usually watch the first time without subtitles then again with subtitles later (or just read them) too.

Thank you for your reactions to Park Hyo Shin the Most Amazing Voice in the World. Thanks especially for listening all the way through the video, and not stopping and starting and talking over the performance, a true sign Y'all are professionals. The first time I saw PHS perform Wildflower in Seoul I cried like a baby and still do and I too hear it. However, since 2000 a day does not go by that I do not see and hear Park Hyo Shin. Park Hyo Shin’s “Wild Flower” has topped charts in only three days since its release! “Wild Flower” was released on March 28 KST and by March 30 KST had secured the number 1 spot on Melon, Mnet.com, Bugs Music, Soribada, Naver Music, Daum Music, Monkey 3, Genie, and Olleh Music real-time charts! This is known as an "All-Kill" Park Hyo Shin is a member of a very elite group called Kimnaparklee, a term coined to refer to the four best male singers in South Korea along with Kim Bum Soo, Naul, and Lee Soo. However, Park Hyo Shin holds the #1 spot in this group. Shin, when translated into English, is "God" or "God Like" Written, Composed and Performed by Park Hyo Shin you will feel the Raw Emotions he pours into this and more than likely brings out in the listener. His voice is perfectly controlled yet relaxed. He knows how to explode the emotion, not the voice volume at the climax. Lyrically, “Wild Flower” is a metaphor for the tumultuous life Park Hyo-shin has had. The wildflower blooms in the winter, facing all the harshness of the cold. While it may wilt, it will bloom again despite all the struggles it faces. In the metaphor, “winter” is all the harsh realities that Park Hyo-shin has had to face. He is constantly facing his past, which causes him to struggle. However, like the wildflower, Park holds on until the past is no longer holding him back. Park is blooming again through his music. The MV for “Wild Flower” isn’t even a traditional video. It’s a one-take live performance filmed in Buan County in Jeonbuk middle of nowhere with no vegetation. Well, that’s different. Yes, other people have made MVs in the middle of the desert, but Park Hyo-shin’s MV does it without all the special effects, editing, backing music, etc. Hyo Shin pours his heart and soul into “Wild Flower” because it is his life personified. It takes courage to be so open about struggles. But as an artist, he uses his music to express his life and to touch those who are also going through struggles. Look here for the MV with Eng Subs. vimeo.com/92467812 If you really want emotion, watch his live performance here. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nZbUnHqja76jedE

It isn't about a girl although it can sound like a love story. Wildflowers are known to grow in places you least expect flowers to be... they have an image of resiliency... the song is about himself and getting over a hard time/struggle that he is going through and that once he gets through it he will bloom again like a wildflower. When he made this song he was really going through a very bad time, his company was abusing him and one of his close friends took his own life. Everything took a toll on his mental health and it led to also his physical health being affected - he developed spasmodic dysphonia, if i recall correctly.

[lyrics] A white ice flower that bloomed
puts its face out in the welcoming wind
The tears are running down
because of the wordless and nameless past Hiding in the cold wind
Melting down under the sunlight
That's how you came to me once more Only good memories
Only a longing heart
On the way you left
I'm standing alone here like this
Only until I can forget you
Only until I'll be alright
At the end of a tearful wait
I will bloom once again Love bloom and dead like a fire flower
I close eyes because I could get wet with the rain In my young and small heart
In my memories with dazzling brilliance
I call you name once again like that
Only good memories Only a longing heart On the way you left I'm standing alone here like this Only until I can forget you Only until I'll be alright At the end of a tearful wait I will bloom once again On the dry land
My entire body is burning
Your scent that remained
on my fingers is scattering away It hurts me
because I couldn't hold your hands
that were moving away from me
Just until I can survive
Just as much as I hated you
When the spring comes to bring you back
then I'll bloom on that day

Dang, the moment I saw you guys reacting to this video, my fingers instinctively clicked on the video. I am a very big Park Hyo Shin fan and I'm very glad that you guys reacted to it. He is one of the best vocalist in Korea and the things that he had encountered has made him who he was. If I may, and if you wish to hear more music from him, here are some of my recommendations to you to react. You will not be disappointed for it is the best. Breath and Goodbye. I am also a very big fan of Naul, he's also one of the top vocalist in Korea, right alongside with Park Hyo Shin. He's music leans more towards the R&B Soul genre type ballads and his voice is unique as well. He is not just a solo artist, but is in a group called Brown Eyed Soul, which is well known in Korea in which is usually compared to Boyz 2 Men. I've listen to most of his songs and I love it, and even bought most of his albums. Here are my recommendations, Memory of the Wind, You Living in the Same Time, Emptiness in Memory, Feels Like and Gloria. By the way...love the intro. 😉
