I think it’s hilarious that he’s so comfortable enough to free hand everything, where as I’d be terrified of messing up. “Measure twice, cut once,” I’d be more like measure ten, cut once, Lol.

Ok, so Rob. I do not have an email address for you or anyone there at RS. After fully installing all the rivets, I've found that I need to now drill them back out. Peeved as I followed tuts to the letter. Now, can you give me ONE good reason to not just slot the faceplate and install nuts and screws rather than using the permanent Rivets? Seems to me I'd have much more control over the mating of the faceplate and backcap using this method. Sure they didn't do it back in the 70's, but they also didn't use velcro on the leggings. A proven superior method and much easier and quick method of suiting up. Tomorrow I have to drill out the rivets and install screws and nuts to get this right and was also recommended by the 501st, 1st Imperial Stormtrooper Detachment. Nobody wants rivets.

Screws and nuts would work, whatever works for you buddy, it’s your suit.

Can you tell me what drill size you're using for those holes? Replacement rivet size would be nice to know as well.
@RSPropMastersTV4 жыл бұрын
4mm, but you could use a different river and make the hole to suit. We use 4x8 rivets.

@@RSPropMastersTV Thanks buddy. Working the helmet first because I don't have to contend with my 47 inch belly yet. Now THAT I'm scared of. Off to do some drilling :D

Was is a conscious decision to have the brow 5-6 mm lower on the ANH hero helmets?
@RSPropMastersTV4 жыл бұрын
Yes, it’s seems to be a more accepted build and accentuate the shape.

Have you had the issue where there is a gap between the face and backcap? Is that supposed to be or did I screw this up? Noticed this after riveting. photos.google.com/photo/AF1QipMfzXsc_T3NIxCXn10ydwsWy7jT-1lVPhlyXr4e photos.google.com/album/AF1QipMy0gVO-Hcgnh_XR1yP3DWwHXf6yOudmwUw4rJQ
