Well this is good to know - if buying a Rivian here in the great white north, go with the off-road tires or plan for winter tires rather than those 22’s. Since clearly the rest of the vehicle is more than capable. Presuming y’all have the quad motor, I’m a little curious how the dual motor would perform.

Unless you drive in snow or go off-road the majority of time and just drive locally, the one downside to running 20s full time as stated by Rivian is an "Estimated 40 mi range reduction" which can add up in lost range when taking long road trips.

Totally agree. Since there are no winter tires available for the 21”, I’m stuck w the oem all season. So it’s actually our worst car for snow driving.

It has nothing to do w T vs S. As many have said, it’s the 20” beast tires vs the 22” low profile performance tires. I have the R1S w 20” tires and blew thru 20” of snow in every single mode as if there was no snow. Taking the 22” low profiles out in heavy snow is as smart as taking the same tires on the Rubicon trail. Click bait nonsense.

Agree on this being a difference in tires and not difference in models. However, I get the impression you didn't watch the entire video or didn't pay close attention. They clearly said in the video that it is not an issue between the R1S and R1T, but in fact the difference between the 20-in and the 22-in tires. So not sure why you consider this video clickbait.
