When I did the first drive demo I noticed the suspension being a bit too active even on small bumps. Throttle House also mentioned something like this. Have you noticed anything like that?

For sure. Not as refined on the street as many luxury players, but plenty capable off the pavement.

totally agree with you on the 3rd row. not sure how something like that was missed when they engineered and designed so many aspects so well. probably many of their engineers dont actually own 3-row SUVs and dont understand the use cases and how annoying it can be the way it functions now. ive said it before but they should have spent less time/cost on gimmicky things like the camp speaker and put in a way to raise the 3rd row easier as well as grab handles on the a/b-pillar (especially as there is no step rail).

3rd regen mode is part of the snow mode.

@@ROMRreviews I believe for now it is only available in the snow mode as a default, but I imagine in the future it will be a selectable option with the other modes too.

Will hold its own in the premium segment, not quite up to luxury spec. Design is fantastic though

It does not do straight SMS text messages, but it will do voice messages through Alexa

Does the Rivian have vehicle to home charging? I’ve heard Rivian (RJ) talk about it as a future feature but what I want to know if I buy one this year will it have the hardware for V2H that can be enabled in a future software update?

Just like you, we've heard this is coming in the future but haven't seen anytime definitive. I would assume we're still at least a year away.

Haven't noticed much at all. However, We don't have gear guard running at the homestead and that is likely the biggest culprit

Appreciate the candid and unbiased review. The lack of buttons for simple functions and Android Auto / Apple Car Play is ridiculous. While individually some items are not deal breakers, I think when you add up all the shortcomings, you’re into deal breaker territory for a lot of people. Yes, the car is fast, but I’ve yet to see a review where all the features you Do Not Get with a Rivian are mentioned. Compared to Jeep, Ford, Toyota and other experienced SUV / truck manufacturers, it’s pretty clear that Rivian does not appreciate what true off-roaders want in an “adventure” vehicle. After years of waiting for an R1S, I’m now leaning towards a Grand Cherokee or Bronco and letting the adventure posers have the Rivian. Doesn’t help that Rivian keeps going backwards relative to their promises of 2+ years ago.
