Listening to Escape ft Kayla right now. Lol Such a good, chill song. I'm what is known as "poor" here in Alabama, so I'll never be able to afford a rust bucket, let alone a Rivian R1T. I live my life vicariously through people like you guys who take my dream truck out for a spin. Thank you for sharing your experiences with poor folk like myself. Lol Also, from what I've gathered, I think a feature they can add for the next set of vehicles is defrost on the headlights because the LED lights themselves don't get hot enough to melt the snow. I'm hearing a lot of my northern buds are having issues with headlights being rendered useless by packed snow. That's super dangerous and I hope they fix it. Finally, I would really like for them to make the "tire change" feature a one touch option. Rather than remembering all of the steps they want you to do to set it up, like putting it in off-road on the highest setting etc. I would like for it to be a feature easily located in the ride mode screen. Click it, and the vehicle sets itself in the correct mode to change tires. Having to go to one screen, set a ride mode and height, then the settings screen to turn on tire change blah blah blah would mess with my ADHD. If it would mess with me, I can promise you it would mess with those who could actually afford this thing. Memory has never been my strongest point, and I would be stuck on the side of the road in a panic, trying to remember what I needed to do.

Tune-in is great. I use it all the time in my Tesla. It doesn't cache any data so if you hit a dead spot it goes out, which sucks... but generally its fine. great selection of stations, news, etc.

If you like AM stations listening to them over tune is works great, as it is all digital. No noise from the AM reciever, tunein streams it.

I'm in New England and some of the fog we get is incredibly dense. I've found several times where I had the parking lights on and the fog lights because turning on the headlights was too dazzling. Wish there was a way to do that in the Rivian. Maybe the software should be set up as... Headlight switch up - Cycle Off, auto, parking, headlights Headlight switch Down - Cycle Off, front fog, front and rear fog. That way you have some better lighting control. How are the seat heaters? Is high a true "melt the fat" setting? Far too many vehicles have multiple settings and you never take it off high because it's just barely warm. Seat cooling is just a fan under the seat right? Any opinions on it's effectiveness? Speaking of seats, that "Vegan Leather" is just a fancy way of saying "Vinyl seats". How it is when it's frigid cold and (if you can) baked in the sun hot? Brightness needs to be automatic. OR... should be a setting for day and night that switches with the theme. Does the day/night switch due to exterior brightness or time? Charge level probably should have a slider too. The battery tech does not like to be 100%, but it might be nice to do the low 90's for trips. Maybe something that slides from 50% to 100% with a warning and accept if you go over 90%. 70% also seems a bit low. Would also like to see a setting when it knows you are home that delays charging to late. So, you can set something like: Time you want to reach set charge limit: 4am Then the vehicle figures out roughly when to start charging to be sure to be at the 70, 85, 100 as selected to try to shift charging draw to low demand times. Absolutely it needs to know where it is for charging. Perhaps multiple profiles for places like home, work, etc. where you can set specific needs. The default would be "full charge NOW" for use away from home. I do like the configurable amp rate. That said, does it tell you when it's connected to a source that can't supply the rate you are set to? I know the EVSE is supposed to tell the vehicle what the max is in their handshake, but is that information provided to the user? Also, can you explain the use of the included EVSE and how it works on various connections? (ie. 120v vs 240v) What? Don't you have rogue cabinets rolling around in Colorado? That was hilarious! I had to pause the video to stop laughing. I wonder as they update software if the display in the back will get some styling as well as the front. It seems like a full featured display. I wonder if it has color too? Thanks for that full rundown. The last software did update a lot.

I only use tune in to listen to a morning show on an FM station from my college town in NC. They have their own app and website now to listen live but tune in had it before they had that website so I just kept using it.

They do make a Tesla to a j1772 converter I just saw a video when it was used on an ionic 5 but there was a trick with allowing it to perform you needed to go into the ionic 5 turn it on so it recognize it was being charged and then turn it off and allow a to charge. But it works

I would 100% be interested in a Rivian or Ford F150 but in Minnesota, we only have 1 DC Fast charger in the entire State over 50kw. So if you plan on driving far up north not possible. Only Tesla has the charger network to do so.

TuneIn is for everybody who wants to listen to radio overseas or without losing connection trough LTE. It's imo superior to FM if your station is on TuneIn as well. Quality for internet radio is better too. I live in The Netherlands and I can listen to my favorite Radio station while I am doing a road trip trough Germany or a different country. And it sounds better than FM. Great video. Love how much detail the Rivian software has and how snappy it is. Very jalous! My Model S received an 2600 dollar MCU upgrade and it's still terrible software, slow and crashes all the time. Only thing I hope is Rivian adding more apps like Waze, Netflix, KZbin etc... 27:33 LMAO

Hi Kyle love your content gonna be buying a rivian soon and I’m kinda torn between two specs .1 is an r1t with dual motors and the large pack only and stay under 80k for the ira 2. The dual motor with the standard pack lfp then be able to get ocean coast under armor and hunter green . I guess the bottom line is which battery pack I want the lfp won’t be available until next year sucks but that’s life . Thoughts ????

@@Tazman55x do you have any credible documentation to attest to that? There are sites that list the curb weight as 5,886 lbs for the Rivian. 7,148 seems really high for this sized vehicle. A Ford Expedition weighs less than 5,700 lbs. This Rivian is much smaller than the F150 Lightning Electric truck which only weighs 6,171. How is this vehicle 1,000 lbs heavier than that? I would just like to see someone actually confirm the weight of this vehicle on a scale at a truck stop.

@@LearningFast 7,148 is not high for a EV of this size. Batteries are not light. The R1T is only inches smaller than F150, not "much smaller". Exterior dimensions are nearly identical to Jeep Gladiator.

@@fmonk the F150 lightning is 6,171 lbs and about a foot longer than the Rivian. Yes, batteries are heavy and the Rivian’s battery is exceptionally heavy. I just would like to see someone actually confirm the weight of the Rivian. There are conflicting reports on how much it weighs.

Yes it has been confirmed @7,148 gvw; it has been confirmed by multiple other media and Rivian. The only way to get lighter on the weight is to start deleting features: the under body shielding option, different wheels will affect, no tonneau cover, etc.

This is understated. I tried a newer Lexus recently and that drove me nuts during the test drive. Started raining so I'm looking off the road playing with menus while my windows fog. There's just no reason for a lack of buttons, some things always need to be reachable at a moments notice, reliably in the same spot. Furthermore, if that screen cracks you're out of luck if you're off road and need vital controls like heat. I could go on about voice commands too but I digress.

I always hated fan/heat controls being on touch When crazy weather hits out of the blue (common in Michigan) I don't want to be fiddling with menus to adjust for window fogging while doing 75 on the highway
