The R3X was the ultimate surprise. Reminiscent of the original VW Golf GTI. What some call a "hot hatch" or "pocket rocket." But with off-road chops to boot. Looks like as much fun as one can possible have in a relatively affordable daily driver.

Sorry but you need to go to Detroit in the 60’s when dropping rear windows were standard on station wagons. If u drove with it down you sucked in awful exhaust fumes.

There is no air compressor in R2, they didn't open up R3 but the assumption would be no since they are the same platform. I forgot to include that. They did not mention top speeds. Just 0-60 in less than 3 secs on the website

Price is the biggest problem. Base rwd is 45k. RAV4 hybrid awd base is 35k. Toyota hybrid is what u should be comparing too not the R1.

The small/powerful form factor like the R3 is really what most EV should be! EV can not drive too far, gas car can easily drive 500 miles with one fill, it does not make any sense to try to make it so big, the weight is higher, the battery is larger, the cost is higher, it is why EV these days are so expensive. What EV is great at is lowering commute cost and weekends camping/surfing, which takes 90% of the usage. Leave the long road trip to your already have gasolines car/SUV before 800V fast charge is everywhere

Prototype is easy, mass production is hard. Rivian is almost banckrupt. They need a lot of money to put R2 and R3 in the market at a decent price. I gave them max 10% to succeed this

R1T and R1S are not profitable vehicles. Rivian needs design and manufacturing changes to make the vehicles profitable in the future. I wish someone would talk about the Amazon Vans they are producing and how many they are producing each month and if they a profitable. This should be a huge opportunity for Rivian. If they can ramp up the van production and add customers like WalMart, UPS, FedEx and USPS that might help them become a profitable company.

This Rivian announcement should give Tesla stakeholders the impetus to DEMAND Elon Musk come back to the Tesla office full time (every day) or resign. He is distracted with Space X, Boring, Company, Twitter/X and the stock price reflects his lack of meaningful focus. While others have been innovating, Elon has squandered resources on initiative that are not producing meaningful revenue. There is nothing new in the Tesla pipeline over the next 24 months representing a significant new cashflow stream as a recession approaches.

Starting at $45k, yep... more affordable for sure...NOT. Same as avarage Tesla owner house hold income is 120k a year... SURE!!!! Electrical vehicles are COOL, however, it can not be your only car! Lets say you want to drive from NY to Cali, good luck planning your charging stops, also what if its super cold? We all saw what happened to Tesla cars when charges were not working and batteries just gave up. So, electrical vehicles are cool, but still not the clear choice due to its price , range and battery limitations. Hybrid is the way to go!
