Unlike EA or EVgo, ChargePoint chargers are installed by the location owners, and the rates are set by owners of the stations, so the prices can vary wildly from station to station.

If only there were more around with charging over 150.
@markfitzpatrick66922 жыл бұрын
You beat me too it I was going to say that. Also it is not really a parking fee it is a charging fee they just call it that. You can start charge point units with a charge-point rfid key tag just tap and charge or the charge-point membership card in apple wallet to just tap phone on the rfid symbol

The plus on charge points is they usually always work. They are just slower.

Suggestion for future reference: Stop charging at 29:59, and then start a new session to avoid those idle fees.

You guys are good! I watch almost all the Rivian content I can find on KZbin - my wife will ONLY watch your channel. We are slotted for an early 2023 R1T delivery: Max pack and ocean interior, still deciding on exterior: Red or El Cap Gray or Blue maybe something else.

That is so nice if you guys! Glad you’re loving the videos. ❤️ We originally had the Ocean Coast, but decided to jump on the first one we could get. Have you gotten to see many of the colors in person? We love the Blue and have really liked the El Cap on ours!

How does it compare to the ABRP calculations? By the way, it actually disengages them. You can hear the mechanical disconnect if you listen closely.

Who needs the drama and stress of CCS charging? I'll keep my Model Y. Charging couldn't be easier.

No, I don't feel safe to drive EV for a long trip, especially if you cannot predict if the next chargers are working/safe or not. Give it 2-3 years and it will take longer to get fully charged. I don't want to stop at every charging station for hours to be a chef.

What are you guys gonna do with 2 trucks? Model X seems too good to trade for R1T. Obviously, I have drove neither so I can't tell but maybe you guys can 'justify' your reasoning for it? Tesla has better charging ecosystem imo. You can use it for occasional roadtrips and to run in-city errands. And Lightning for off-roading and towing. Thoughts?
@AllElectricFamily2 жыл бұрын
I'll be brutally honest here. We put in our preorder for the Rivian in 2020 and thought we'd get the truck in 2020. That's what they were saying at the time. Fast Forward to 2021 when they announce the Lightning and we thought we'd probably end up with the Lightning first...and by a long shot. Then fast forward to the 2022 and both trucks ended up getting delivered within months of each other. So, we just couldn't pass up the opportunity to have both trucks and see what they were capable of. I think the Rivian is probably going to be our favorite...but the Lightning has so much potential. We have to give it a couple of weeks to know for sure.

You guys should test some pop up campers when towing with your lightning. I think Pop up campers are the most ideal option for EV’s because they will reduce drag significantly over box trailer campers

Looked like a nice and easy trip. Did you include your last charge at the hotel for total Kw usage? Do hotels add a sneaky little charge for using their charger? I can only imagine in the future with more people driving EVs they will. Thanks for sharing your trip.

Enjoyable with the kind of detail I like. Still debating on Cybertruck vs Rivian. Both on order. Still towing our 30 ft Airstream with our Model Y. I have found a converter as I think in watts/km. We lose about 2/3 of our predicted range towing. It looks like you lose about 1/2. We typically stop 20 minutes at superchargers to stay in the 10-60% sweet spot of the charging curve. It looks like you get similar consumption to our 75 D Model X that is the car my wife drives. Is that correct? I know you had the 100 D Model X previously. We would love to attend your camping gathering but it is a little far for us (north of Toronto Canada) and would have to drive through Chicago again. We towed to Rochester Minnesota in June and going through Chicago was brutal. Hopefully next year. What hitch are you using? I am considering changing to an Anderson hitch re noise and weight. We are currently using an Eaz-lift Elite and often drop a bar on tight turns, get all greasy every time and get back pain every time I hook and unhook.
