Man, I really want this brand to succeed. Their cars are slick.

Prototypes are easy, production ist hard and to go even further, making expensive cars is easy, cutting cost is hard. There are a lot of companies having good Ideas or concepts, but people need affordable cars, especially when it comes to EVs. Companies like Lucid or Lotus make great Evs for example, but there is nothing hard in using high quality materials and stuff when you just price them at 100k and higher. For me the best car Rivian is making is the Amazon-Van, but it is not a consumers car and I am pretty sure that they would be bankrupt if it werent for this B2B Deal. I wish them the best, but wouldnt be surprised if they end up being bought by Legacy automakers or going bankrupt. The EV market is very hard and the window Tesla used to become a actual competitor to legacy automakers has closed years ago. I really dont see that happening again.

I'm Tesla for life, but I'm also a Rivian investor and I think they make great vehicles. I don't love SUVs or crossovers, but I really want Rivian to succeed. I love that Tesla is the NACS charging standard and available to Rivian soon (and every other EV from a major manufacturer), and that Rivian's own charging network will be open as well. Good job, Rivian! May you have a great ramp of all models and lots of sales!

If they were backed up on thousands of orders they wouldn’t have held off construction of the factory, because they would’ve needed it for R2 demand.

For some reason, I can see the R3X being a car some car enthusiasts would pick to modify. It already sits fairly low for an SUV, as well as the short wheel gap in between the wheel & the fenders. I can already see these being slammed on air suspension.

The R3 could be a huge hit in Europe. We love our small and nimble hatchbacks. And even though the R3 is still quite big, it comes very close.

R3 has me excited, perfect city commuter. Love the double hatch. Can't wait. We need more Rivian's on the road so that the battery and electric motor tech can be refined.
