So fun to watch this movie! My Father was born just outside La Spezia. I was often as a child and visiting my relatives in La Spezia and Bergamo. Loved running around the park and eating ice creame down by the harbor. So many memories that came up after i watched this movie. Hoping for more movies at La Spezia! Nice Job. Have a nice day!

Thank you for the video. Spezia looks very nice. If you could take other pictures or video of the City that would be great so we can see more. Any chance you could do videos of the Luingiani towns such as Luciano Nardi, Fosdinovo, Fivizzano, Villafranca in Lunigiana, and other pretty towns in the area? Thank you for sharing. I love it there. I was this past summer. Stayed here while visiting Cinque Terre and I feel in love with it. I also prefer the food here than the surrounding areas. Will be back and even considering renting a place. Thanks for the video.

I was there on a cruise. We parked at the cruiseship terminal. Unfortunately I didn't have time to explore La Spezia because I just took a taxi to the central train terminal on my way to Florence and Pisa. Maybe next cruise if I get there again, I will take the time to explore the city.

Because of the militar navy arsenal occupying the right side of the gulf, La Spezia was among the most destroyed cities in Italy, bombed by England before 1943, and by Germany after. One out of three historical buildings was estimated to survive the war, as you can notice now if you visit the city. And after the war a cargo port and heavy industries were built across all the left side of the gulf that previously was full of beaches and bathhouses. Unfortunately, Spezia (without the article “La” before the name as we say) would have had the chance to become one of the most beautiful cities in Italy

So happy to have stumbled across this. Watched your videos last year when we were starting to get interested in Italy. So glad you stayed in Italy-and close to the water. We just returned from our scouting trip ( mostly Monferrato area, but also Rome, Anghiari, Panzano, Rapallo and Lake Maggiore). Driving was a hoot! But I have to learn the language and thanks for recommending Speakly- I’m gonna give it a whirl.
