Trucks at the 5th Annual Spring Thaw Model Show

Here's some pictures of the trucks at the 5th Annual Spring Thaw Model Show.
The show was held at the Willowvale Fire Company in Chadwicks, New York on April 8th, 2018. The show was filled with many beautiful models and there was a great selection of vendors as well.
I'm already looking forward to the 6th Annual Spring Thaw Model Contest. The date is April 7th, 2019 and it's also being held at the Willowvale Fire Company.

It was a very enjoyable day meeting and talking with other modelers. Everyone I talked to was very kind and courteous and took the time to answer any question I had. It was fun spending the day with all of you.
Last and certainly not least, a big THANK YOU is well deserved by everyone involved with this show. It's a great show and your time and effort is greatly appreciated. THANKS!!!

Thanks Poppy, for the comment. There really was some great looking models there. I'm thankful to have such a great show relatively close to me and I'm happy I went to it. The people that run this show put a lot of time and effort into it and it was a very well ran show. It was a very nice day spent with fellow modelers. Everyone I talked to was very happy to answer any and all questions about their models. It really was a great time and I'm already looking forward to next years show.

Nice looking trucks. I liked the ones that where weather. It would be nice if they had some in 1/43 scale. I'd use them on my train layout.Thanks for sharing all the great looking trucks. Greetings from New jersey

Thanks, Nick for the comment. There really was some very nice trucks there. The weathering people do not only on these trucks but also the model trains we are into is a form of artwork to me. It's amazing how realistic people can make these models look. Actually there are two trucks in this video that are 1/43 scale. They can be seen at 2:48 and 2:52. AMT made a 1/43 scale Peterbilt 359 and Kenworth K100 I think back in the late 1970's/early 1980's but am not 100% sure of the timeline. I do agree that they would look great with the trains that we both have.

I enjoy making these videos and am happy to share them. I enjoy this hobby and this a fun way to share it with others. And hopefully someone somewhere will watch this video and decide to build a model and/or maybe even go to this show next year.

Have a question how did you build or where did you get the extended bumpers for the mixers? I want to build a mixer and the company I work for that's where the hydraulic pump is so I need that layout thanks for your time awesome models.

Thanks for the comment. The mixers aren't my models, but I'll try to help. From looking at them I would guess that is the bumper that comes with the MPC and later Ertl Mack DM800 mixer. Which isn't the easiest or cheapest kit to find. I''m not sure if anyone casts bumpers like that in resin, but you can check with American Industrial Truck Models. www.aitruckmodels.com They cast many different conversion kits, parts, dump bodies and even mixer bodies. And if you want to try and build a bumper yourself, you can look at the plastic channels made by either Plastruct or Evergreen. I hope this helps and feel free to ask any questions that you may have.
