See that black thing at 2:30? Thats called a TOOL lol.... Do you need one of those to use these "toolless" keystones?...

I found out you don't need one of them :) Can just squeeze it by hand.

@@Lloyd.B. Yes, this keystone jack can be terminated by hand. However, during on-site installations, many technicians use a punch-down tool to avoid sore hands and speed up the process, especially when working on a lot of keystone jacks. It helps termination easier and faster!

Tool free, apart from the cable cutters, cable stripper and tool to squeeze the socket together. And you cut off the shielding, which is surely supposed to terminate against the metal part of the jack for cat6a to work reliably 🤦♂️🤷♂️

The drain wire provides the ground, which is wrapped around the entry and secured with a tie wrap. Using the shield would be messy.

The term "Tool-Free" keystone jack means that this jack doesn’t require a punch-down tool for termination. However, using a punch-down tool can help technicians avoid hand fatigue when terminating a lot of keystone jacks. As for the tools you see in the video: the cable stripper is used for removing the cable jacket, and the cutting plier is for trimming the cross separator and excess wires. If you need stranded patch cords, you can choose our assembled or molded patch cords. We manufacture both assembled type and molded type in house. All of the EXW patch cords passed Fluke testing and are compliant with ISO 11801 and TIA-568.2-D.
