I recently purchased the new profiling tool from @MakeItKustom / Japhands Kustoms. See what I think. Is it worth the $500?

It’s a fabulous tool. I love mine. Thanks for sharing your experience with it. Karl and elio have great things in store.

Absolutely! I’m excited things like this are accessible to us. This is the best of the internet for sure.

I love mine. I had the same issues with loose set screws. Mine has six on top and six on the bottom. I also built a fence just as you described. It slides along the two middle bolts and works just fine. Also, based upon the sound, I think I'm running more pressure through my hammer. Probably not good for the hammer but my machine seems to be much faster than yours. Your welds look much better than mine. Mine look like Stevie Wonder did them but so far it's staying together. Thanks for posting this. It helps all of us.

Haha Stevie has some welds on this one as well. Don’t look too close lol. I’m definitely building a fence for mine soon.

Karl was planning on making the dxf files available on his Patreon site for all the plasma cut parts so you could have them cut locally if you want.

I designed a metric version in Fusion for all of us not living in the inch world, and sent the files to Karl - maybe worth asking if you could buy those off him... Oh, it has a fence designed in too!

@WillemFick would love to see your fence design

Die containment would work better with keeper blocks to retain them. Retaining bolt would then would not be a direct contact with die. Dies can also seat into a tongue and groove style locator for the fore and aft position.

I'm wondering if drilling dimples into the dies would help the set screws from vibrating loose ?
@rdspeedfab6 ай бұрын
Yeah it may very well. Over tightened them with a ratchet and they have not come loose. I think k I just need a little more torque on them.

Are there any spring washers under the lock nuts? It might help in this high vibration situation…thanks for the video, it looks like a useful tool.

Shouldn't one of the jaws be adjustable so you could gradually increase the depth?
@rdspeedfab6 ай бұрын
You’d have to build a stop in it for that to work. If you want a shallower profile you could build a specific die or just run it through less.
@PerrieHulett6 ай бұрын
I think it would work a lot better if the tool in the gun was longer . The movement should come from the gun not the gap between the tool and the top die. Great video though bud👍
