You were right when expected Moonbyul with some dark concept and hard beat. Check out her Eclipse MV to get some of that. I personally recommend Moonbyul's Shutdown (if you need some spicy 18+ stuff), Ddu ddu ddu (with some vocal), Cheese in the trap (so fun and cute), etc. Moonbyul made a lot of different kind of music, and i think you will enjoy it all.

Hwasa uses a lot of wordplay in the songs she writes, or even the parts she writes in group songs. In this case, she uses a korean word for light that very much sounds like the english word bitch. The yt channel dkdk tv tends to do good explanations of this wordplay. The one for "maria" really adds multiple layers to the song for the western audience And several of her songs have a bit of continuity, with this being considered the 'bad ending' of her song "maria", where she caved and started being the bad girl so many expect her to be. (There is, of course, a lot more to it than this) As for dancing/choreography, she seems to always partner off with choreographer lia kim, who did mamamoo's "hip" and then every single hwasa solo since. Lia absolutely loves hwasa's dance style... she's not the most technical dancer in the group, but the feel and attitude of her moves is unmatched (solar has a somewhat similar style, and they're the two that often need the most help learning/remembering the choreo, but they definitely own what they do)

i respectfully disagree that Hwasa feel and attiude of her moves are unmatched. have you seen Wheein dance covers, Trash choreography, Water Color relay dance, etc? in the choreography of Trash for example you can't separate her from the professional dance crew at any point. it looks like she belongs to the group. in the official documentary of Mamamoo, the main choreographer of Mamamoo said that Wheein was born to be a dancer and no matter what genre she teach she can pull it off. the CEO praised her for popping. when it comes to dancing Wheein is a bit better than Solar, Hwasa, and Moonbyul.

@@SapiaNt0mata Everybody already knows that Wheein has no problem picking up choreography. But I think what kalaksed was getting at is that Hwasa is DIFFERENT from everybody else (a fact that she now celebrates, rather than feeling ashamed about). She is quite literally in a league of her own. Nobody does it like Hwasa does it. Wheein has a great dance style (or even multiple styles, she's really that good) but she is NOT Hwasa. And Hwasa is NOT Wheein. And they do not try to be each other. Their abilities compliment each other within the group and even when it is just the two of them. All four of these ladies are completely their own selves, which is a great message for everybody on Earth; there is absolutely nothing wrong with individuality because it means we each bring a different kind of strength to the table. Obviously we are supposed to help each other through our weaknesses, which is what civilization is for. That is how safety in numbers works. Different perspectives can solve problems faster and more completely than just one single (narrow-minded) viewpoint. Variety ensures survival. A varied portfolio can't be destroyed by a single blow.

Wheein can do hip-hop like Lolo choreo. even that small part of choreo looks badass. now imagine if she did a full choreography like that and promoted it. then Wheein can do other genres flawlessly. that's why i disagree to say that Hwasa moves are unmatched. and saying that nobody does like Hwasa does it is also wrong. look at Hyolin.

Of the four, moonbyul's solo music is definitely the most eclectic. You'll never really know what she'll deliver next. She does have a darker song like you mentioned, "eclipse". Her first official solo, "selfish" was fun and upbeat in a lot of ways and features one of her closesr friends, seulgi of red velvet. She's also got a lot of emo bops such as "in my room" or "absence" (latter shows her vocals rather well). And releases a lot of softer music on her birthdays. "Snow" and "miracle 3 days ago" are great examples (her birthday is 3 days before christmas) Most of their most recent title tracks, group or solo, have incorporated more dance focus than a lot of their eaelier stuff. Starting with "gogobebe" they used well-known choreographers to help with the dances (while still mostly choreographing their b sides, at least for group albums) The red-headed nurse in "lunatic" is aiki, the choreographer for this song. Many of the dancers are her own dance crew, hook (gained a lot of fame from the dance competition shows 'street woman fighter' and 'street girl dwnce fighter'. A lot of the dancers in those shows had ties to mamamoo members)

A lot expect lots of high notes/belting in solar's solo work, but she does that in so many of the group songs she wants to showcase other aspects of herself when solo. Plus she seems to really just want to have fun in both of her official solos She technically has the fewest solos out of the group (2) and is the last to debut as a soloist (with "spit it out") but she was the first 3rd gen female artist to host a solo concert (backin 2018. Interestingly, moonbyul was the second, years later). She also has a series of covers, called 'solar's emotions' that she's been releasing over the years (the three from 2018 are my favorites for various reasons), so there is still a lot of solo content from her, including osts and collabs/features This song, solar used jj for the choreo. I'm not personally so familiar with them, but they seem to be well known. She used galen hooks for "spit it out" and actually participated in creating some of the choreo herself (all of mamamoo used to do that in their songs, create the choreo so it didn't interfere with their singing. They still do that for their b sides)

Their solo's work is always beautiful concepts. Hwasa fills every image with meaning, take a little to understand every point - it's very rich in critic. Maria, Twit is also wonderful mvs and soundtracks. She just released a colab with Loco (someday) and it's such a vibe, you will love it. Moonbyul is all about lyrics, you should listen to all 6equence album, she is telling a story about a relationship from the beginnig to the end, so that starts with G999 (falling in love), Shutdown (honeymoon), Lunatic (climax - trying to understand where she is in the relation), For me, ddu ddu ddu (the end) - it's a movie :) Wheein is always perfect with the incredible voice and slays in the coreography. Make me happy is a masterpice! Solar is confidence herself, Spit out is her first solo release and is incredible too! Anyway... I love your reactions and thanks for the nice comments!

Wheein definitely has two main styles for her solo work: either heavily r&b (her debut, "easy", and you can definitely tell it l's influence for "water color", which she describes as new jack swing) or ballad ("goodbye", virtually all her osts), though her unpromoted song "d-day" is more rock, and fans are hoping her upcoming album follows suit (as it was originally going to be on the album, even possibly being the title track). Her collabs are more eclectic, but she tends to work with less known or indie artists much of the time "Water color" was actually the first solo wheein promoted on music shows and such. (She basically always dropped her other songd and disappeared). It was also her last solo song with rbw. She signed on with the l1ve not terribly long after for her solo work (same company has ailee) Again, this is more dwnce focused than her previous work, and the backup dancers are current or former members of the dance crew just jerk. The choreogrspher (who choreogrsphed st least one b side, too) actuslly has a long history with wheein. She was one of two nearly unknown dancers wheein used in her solo debut "easy", and both blew up later, having choreographed for artists from the 'big 3'. Both still work and even hang out with wheein (who is a very accomplished dancer, though is often overlooked because people don't expect mamamoo to dance), showing up in some of her dance covers she's released over the years Also, wheein is an artist who loves to draw and paint. She's created artworks for several of her solos and art, drawing or painting frequently get mentioned in songs

Hwasa's first solo work was a collab 4 years ago with a rapper Loco for a song called Don't. Please check it out! It was super popular the year it came out. They came out with 2 new collabs just this week called Somebody and Lemon! Their voices go sooo well together. Please check their songs out. You will love it and love them !!

I love Lunatic but I liked the other songs of that album a lot more. Sequence (the album) portraits a story but even though Lunatic has it's place in the story it doesn't really fit. Moonbyul can do any genre from dark and hard hitting like "Eclispe" to high shool rock like "Cheese in the trap" to ballads like "For me" and "ddu ddu ddu" or she just ignores ever social norm and sings about two woman in love beeing intimate "shutdown". Watercolor fits Wheein soo good. And I love the refrences to the other members Solos. Walking/sitting on the table with everyone ignoring her, a refrence to Hwasas Twitt. The cap with the two braids is Moonbyuls Eclipse and the purple gloves are from Solars Spit it out. Wheeins vocals are just from another world. I'm a B is a brilliant wordplay between the Korean word for light bich and what you understood. Her songs are mostly about being your self no matter what with some side stabs to those creating scandals about her, like the no bra line (the media made a huge thing about her not wearing one at the airport) Solar uses her Solos to show of her vocal abilities that she can't show in Mamamoo like the lower notes. I really love the diversitiy in her ablum Face with "Big Booty" and her song dedicated to Moonbyul "zinggle zinggle" is just perfect for these two.

It's true that you can see each member's personality and creativity from their solo songs. For Lunatic, it's part of Moonbyul's album "6equence". The whole album tells a story of love as you progress through each songs, so lunatic is the stage where you love someone until it gets to a point of a certain obsession and like the phrase "Love makes you crazy" kinda vibe. I highly recommend checking out her whole album! Every song in her 6equence album has an MV that goes with it :) Oh! Fun fact: The last part of the lunatic MV shows a teaser to Moonbyul's next song "Cheese in the trap" ;) For Watercolour, like what everyone has mentioned talks about wheein's creativity as an artist. In my opinion, this song seems like her "stepping out of her shell" kinda song because it's her last solo album with RBW. Like her lyrics "wake me up from a deep slumber", after joining TheL1VE she has many more appearances and releasing a new song/collab almost every month. And honestly, she deserves the recognition! Watercolour also shows off how talented of a dancer wheein is!! I'm a B, like what you pointed out, seems like it means B!tch. Because of every thing that hwasa has been through with stupid media and public who were mean to her and painted her as a B, so this song is almost as if.. she's pointing a middle finger at all her haters :P Hwasa's songs and lyrics are always intriguing and her MVs are sooo captivating. I can see why you'll be drawn to her because her entire being demands attention!!! and a QUEEN she is. For Honey, in korea when they say "looking at someone with honey in the eyes" means to look at someone lovingly, falling in love with them. Solar's MV also is a feast for the eyes with the different colour palettes which actually fit her soooo well. The song also is also so catchy! Mamamoo solo work is basically more mamamoo, it doesnt matter if you have 1,2 or all 4 memebers everything they do is great. Check out Solar's solarsido youtube, there is a Solar Moonbyul switch up where you see Solar sing Lunatic and Moonbyul sing Honey. Many of these have live performances, Hwasa's I'm a B for example includes the traditional instrument dance break and Solar her entire new album Face(honey is the #2 solng) she does a live performance video of all 5 songs. Wheein has an all english version of Watercolor on the album. Their OSTs, as a group or Solo or pairs are also awesome. Probably one of the best examples of their vocals is Woo hoo which is an LG cell phone commercial but a full length song. I also get what you mean by connecting to hwasa, for me it is Solar, just something connects.

Lunatic is the title song of her 6equence album which lays out the arc of a relationship. There are videos for all of it. G999 is the first meeting and falling for. Shutdown is when the relationship is consumated (ground breaking sapphic relationship depiction). Lunatic is about trying a failing to deal with the problems of the relationship. and the last two are the breakup and looking back on the breaking. Hwasa's original title was Excuse You I'm a Bitch. In order to get it approved for appearing on the music shows she changed it to using a Korean word that sounds like bitch. You should really check out the Solar/Moonbyul part switch that is on Solarsido. Solar sings Lunatic, Moonbyul sing Honey, they have a great time.

Two really great collaborations of Moon Byul are "G999" with Mirani (brings that 90s feeling back) and "Shutdown" with Seori (with her spiciest lyrics to date). Hwa Sa just released a brand new summer collab with Loco on 25th of July: "Somebody!". Her first song with Loco was "Don't" in 2018. Both are chef's kiss also. And don't forget Whee In's "Make Me Happy" from her new album "WHEEE".

Mamamoo are VERY involved in their solo projects; writing, composing, MV concepts, etc. They really get to show off their individual colors, and is why they're so successful on their own, as well as in the group. Each bring something different, but blend so well/work together so well when together. Of course, they've written and composed some Mamamoo songs as well, but (understandably) solo is where they get to have the most control and input. (Read comment for a recommendation)

Somebody else already pointed out about the lyrics that Hwasa uses. The word for light sounds like our word for bitch. Double-entente is a thing. People have cursed at Hwasa in every imaginable way. So, the song lyrics can be taken as 'Excuse Me? You Call Me A Bitch?' and simultaneously 'Excuse Me, I Am Shining Bright Like A Star!' :)

Hwasa just released a collab with Loco called 'Somebody' it's a chill song ...but the highlight is that she released another track called Lemon which only has the lyrical video on KZbin for now but that track even without the mv is just 👌🏻🙌🏻 so friggin fireeee 🔥 You have got to check out that track! P.P.S. If u check out 'Somebody' then a little information- Loco & Hwasa are a well known & loved duo in Kpop bcoz of their chemistry. Loco had a crush on Hwasa since very long,he still does & in 2014 they got invited to a show called Hyena on the keyboard where they created a song called 'Don't' which instantly got very popular & even won an award, it's still on the Melon Daily top 1000 chart till today. So, the song she released on 25th July was their 2nd collab after 4 years 🙌🏻💫

Thank you for your reaction to these four solo tracks. You can make another reaction and review using four more solo tracks from the Mamamoo lady's. Although Wheen is my favourite member of Mamamoo, for me her song Water Colour, was the weakest of the four and that includes the video. Not saying either was bad but the other songs and videos had greater impact.
