Good call to make these videos - it seems a bit intimidating at first, but its a fairly simple device. WYSIWYG!

How about midi velocity scaling, so i can use the DX7 as master keyboard?
@RetrokitsDev7 ай бұрын
You can, alt+4 has velocity scaling. You can fix or scale incoming note velocity

How are you powering the LaunchKey Mini without anything plugged into its USB port? 🤔

Very keen 😀 - I have built in a lipo battery in the novation, the circuit is described in our Instagram stream

Hello, I hope all is well, I want to use the Pioneer DJS-1000 as a midi controller for all of the korg Volcas. I need to be able to control every Volca, including the Modular, with the DJS. When using SCALE mode to play an external device from DJS-1000, each DJS pad/track transmits on a single Midi channel. Hence, every note triggered in scale mode is on a single channel. With the volca modular, it has a cv input and needs signal from a dual mono to stereo jack with each mono lead plugged into pitch and gate, respectively. Is all of this something I can accomplish with the rk008? Do I need to get the rk002 midi cables if using the rk008? If so, I've noticed they are sold with pre-installed settings. If I get cables for the sample, for example, will I be able to reprogram use with other volcas? Do I need to get all rk002 cables to make this work? Will I need to combine the rk008 with the 006 and have all 002 cables? Hopefully, this is the thing I've been looking for.

I'm so glad these are available now! Can I set up the RK-008 so it will receive one midi channel from the keyboard and then set each track to 1-8 MIDI channels to control 8 synths, one on each track and MIDI channel?

The Weekly Wired KZbin video about the RK-008 answered my question and it's yes. I also read the manual to verify.

Good you found it already 👍 I try to keep up with comments but do not always see all of them.

I love my RK-008! I had a MMT-8 and loved it, and the RK-008 is a perfect love letter to that workflow. With the track buttons everything is immediate, which for me is the most important thing for songwriting. Question though, have you tested the Bluetooth MIDI with an iPad? Every time I've tried it, the RK-008 will show up on apps in my iPad, but I can't ever successfully connect.

Yes we tested it with iPad but there is a direction you might need do check, we have in/out/or in and out so I guess if you use the rk008 to play sounds on the iPad, direction would be ‘out’ - if you choose in+out, be careful not to cause a midi loop with a daw midi chain

Many years ago I had a Yamaha QX-3 Sequencer. Is this similar, except you use the term "Midi recorder" instead of sequencer.? Also the QX-3 had a 3 1/2 inch floppy drive to save to, how do you do that with the RK008, and can you export those midi files?
@RetrokitsDev Жыл бұрын
We use ‘midi recorder’ because can record any midi message on any given timestamp, not only a single note on a fixed interval like with a sequencer (although we do have a stepTime recorder in there which is our marriage between these two recording types ). Saving is done to internal memory.

@@RetrokitsDev Thanks so much for the reply, I'm seriously looking at purchasing one when the funds become available.
