A LOT more. My SMC DV Extreme 4S 135C packs fit with (length-wise) room to spare. Just on a whim...NOT that I'd EVER run them in this vehicle...I decided to see if my 6S Revo Lectrix batteries would fit, and, while there's no problem in the width or height, they're a a bit too long - by about 20mm...lol

Are you sure it was for a traxxas trx4 or a axail
@ninthislandrc11 ай бұрын
To the best I can recall, the eBay listing stated "TRX4". Truth is, this is a 'generic' CF & aluminum batter tray, and can probably be used in a wide variety of vehicles, from different manufacturers, as it wasn't designed for any "one specific" vehicle.

Great idea But I will do it different another tip for any one with a broken front or rear hub SNRC R3G hubs fit very nice little sanding on rear for pin in a arm .And you need a 5x12x4mm bearing I had parts on hand . It usually takes 14 days to get parts from SNRC rc and you get shipping info. Body posts look like they will fit to .

That could be good info, if it fits (NOT doubting you). I assume you're referring to parts 121179 (front steering hub), and 121032 (rear upright hub)? Not sure what country you're in...but, if in the US, can you provide any links from US-based retailers? If not in the US, is there a link for ordering direct? Or, is AliExpress the "best" way of obtaining parts? Regarding both parts, the rear uprights look good (again, assuming they fit)...but, as for the front steering hubs, I see a couple of potential problems. First, the stems (my choice of wording) that extends above & below (ie. the sections the upper & lower A-arms screw into) appear to be longer than the stock AK-917 steering hubs. Second (this one is probably the more important of the two), the bottom portion is considerably thinner (ie. less material), which means it would be more prone to breaking. If the part were aluminum (preferably 7075), this wouldn't be a problem (if, that is, the upper/lower 'stems' aren't too long)...but, as those parts are plastic, this could turn into a serious problem. Hopefully, some 3rd-party aftermarket parts manufacturers will start releasing upgrade, and quality replacement, parts in the near future. Even better, in regards to possible upgrade parts, here's to hoping those 3rd-party manufacturers use 7075 aluminum, instead of the 6061 aluminum Rlaarlo is using.

That mod simply raises the center of gravity. Even a tiny bit is no good for high speed runs.. Just remove the tray and modify the chassis to hold the battery pack down.
@ninthislandrc Жыл бұрын
How is it "raising the center of gravity", when the battery is actually CLOSER to the chassis? With the stock battery tray, the battery is 0.7mm HIGHER then it is now. Plus, all the parts in this battery tray weigh less than all the parts in the stock battery tray. Based on all that, the new COG would actually be lower, not higher. 🤙🏼

What size screws did you use for battery tray?
@robertkilpatrick8361 Жыл бұрын
Wow, just put a longer bolt in the battery holder and raise it up
@ninthislandrc Жыл бұрын
I could have, as some others have done. But, this is lighter that the stock parts...plus, moving the battery closet to the chassis, it lowers the COG. Besides, as I often tell people, "Running RCs is half the fun, building RCs is half the fun, and modifying RCs is half the fun." One of the great things about this hobby is that each & every person can choose to do with his/her vehicle as they choose. If you want to leave it stock, that's your choice. If you want to modify it into oblivion, that's also your choice. And, if you just want to 'bling' it out, and turn it into a "shelf queen"...that, again, is your choice. Although people can provide suggestions to you on things to do with your RCs, no one can ever *tell* you what to do, or not to do, with them. 🤙🏼
