To the question of whether V and Johnny are, well, people as they are, and not just digitalized copies of themselves which are more of an AI than anything else, which copied their brains, but not soul.

They screwed up the dialogue here. The line V says in the second part of the video about never forgetting is clearly meant to tie in to what johnny says on the bus in the epilogue where he takes the body. 'Haven't forgotten a thing, never will.'

Exactly. The dialogue in the second half made no sense for that ending whatsoever. Sounded like V was the one who's gonna die instead of Johnny. Honestly, it all felt incredibly rushed during this scene and during the ending afterwards, I dunno. Feels like half of the game is still missing.

I played a max intelligence net-runner build, and I'd intended to sacrifice Johnny for V. However, given that I just did the suicide-run ending, took half of Smasher's health away with short circuit... I figured, Alt became something else beyond the blackwall because she was a brilliant net-runner. My V cracked Bartmoss' cyberdeck, spent her time wiping out armies of goons - including voodoo boy net-runners - with a single contagion and, again, quite literally decimated Smasher's body and half-killed him with a single short-circ. Silverhand wouldn't have a chance behind the blackwall, but a net-runner V has decent odds. So in my head-canon, V lived on as something else beyond the blackwall, not as part of Alt.

@@Yutani_Crayven I guess, but the thing that allows V to access a lot of the stronger net-running stuff in more efficient ways is tied to their intelligence stat's level as well as its skill tree. That's not to do with mods, more to do with V's experience that they pick up across the game. I don't think it's too far-fetched to suppose that a V who has knocked out Arasaka's entire security team including the monster that is Adam Smasher without firing a single bullet, with hacking alone, has a fair chance navigating whatever there is beyond the blackwall. It takes 10 intelligence for V to merge the Delamain AIs at the end of the side-quest "Don't Lose Your Mind". If playing with hostile, rogue artificial intelligences takes that amount of INT, what is V capable of when they have 20 INT - double that amount? Engrams aren't quite AIs, perhaps, and Alt would certainly be a very powerful AI who - if she were opposed to V's hypothetical attempts to maintain some individuality and survive, insisting that V must be integrated into her amalgamated self - could very much get in the way of a netrunner V's ambitions. It's all speculation, up to you to decide whether or not it's viable. Personally, I reckon it's not too out there.

This all really depends on if Alt would let you or not. I doubt V’s data is worth too much for Alt, but she might insist of assimilating V and just force it to happen. If she doesn’t though, there’s a very solid chance of a net running V surviving behind the black wall, maybe even thrive.

I think they actually might've accidentally swapped the dialogues here, and didn't notice it. Cause clearly the first option is meant to be said by Johnny as he leaves into cyberspace, while the second dialogue is what's supposed to be when Johnny takes over V's body forever.

I dont think its a bug. In this scenario the reason why V is angry at johnny is because in pacifica, if you agree to take a bullet for johnny, youre agreeing that it would be his life before yours. So here she gets mad since she wanted johnny to be the one to survive not herself

@@GC-uu6fx in Delamain quest, Delamain is AI similar as Alt. Both of them are made out of numerous other personalities. Other Delamain's personalities were able to have bodies as cars where in V's situation that might not be possible. In that quest, you get a choice to either let other personalities leave separately from Delamain (giving them freedom) or to merge then back. In case that's not what original commenter meant, my apologies 😁

In my Corpo female V walkthrough V says that Johnny is her friend and that she didn’t believe she’d like him but she really does now. She says she just wanna live. The dialogue is different, but I suppose it is due to the decision at the Pitis Sophia and my overall treatment of Johnny. I had a hostile relationship with him initially but warm up to him because he saved V. During my original walkthrough I gave him the benefit of the doubt and tried to be more understanding since the beginning. I think V was genuinely touched by Johnny’s loyalty and principles as I specifically told him that V’s body is hers and Johnny “can’t give me something I already have”. Also I had 50 percent relationship with Johnny. Guess it’s depends on the dialogue choices. Also when I chose to take V’s body just to see what happens, V was originally angry, but she went back on her words and said she is glad they met.

(Spoilers) With 70% I was shocked at the end when johnny had to leave me behind and continue life with my body. A very sad ending that got me deep for a few days. I then went back to the the doors in front of embers to grind to lvl 50 got all legendary equipment, then boasted into arasaka myself guns blazing and finally made peace with Johnny and this game. 10/10 things of beauty, I know, will never fade away!

A dialogue choice in Chippin' In where you pick something like "I would take a bullet for You" when prompted is 1 check for this. The second check is 70% Silverhand Affinity, choosing to go with rogue instantly adds +30% Affinity pushing you to the 70% benchmark with only 40%.

Yeah, I think you get this dialogue only when you choose "I'd take a bullet for you" option in one of the quests connected to Johnny. Because I didn't and I had other lines here, smth like "You're lying bastard" in response to "You're my friend", even though I had 70%

V's sacrifice feels so much more impactful in (Don't Fear) The Reaper. V themselves make the decision, and Johnny begs you not to do it. It feels less creepy and emotionally manipulative...

In my personal view, and that's how i see it to be right from storytelling point of view, is that (if you are at 70%) V want to give Johnny his body, but Johnny finally realized all his mistakes from past, so his choice would be to go into net with Alt. And that's where V's reaction to stop Jonny from leaving would be appropriate. When you have 70% with Jonny, you are at a stage where you are willing to give Jonny your body for free, but.. it would make more sense for Jonny at this moment to refuse and let V to live a little longer. There is no happy ending, but Jonny should realize that this chance was given to him not to survive, but to fix all his mistakes from past, which he did if you are at 70%. That's why he decided to help V. To take V's body only because it is pragmatic option would mean that Johnny haven't learned shit and haven't changed one bit, that he is the same piece of shit he always has been. That's why the best ending would be to say that you are taking V's body and then do the opposite. You lie to save someone's else life even if he is not going to live long after. Because Johnny is already dead and there is no point for him to live anymore, now that he fixed his past mistakes. And he thanks V for that by tricking him (because it's 70% and V is willing to take a bullet for him) and leaving him alone taking that bullet for himself. Unfortunately CDPR didn't managed to do that right, so only player can create the correct version from a storytelling according to character arc of Johnny. And i just explained my version of story.

Yeah, it's not shown here (or maybe it's just not in this ending? I don't know) but Alt confirms what happens once you're in Mikoshi. V "dies" when she uses Soulkiller on them, that creates the Engram copy of V+Johnny's conciousness, and that's the V you are/see inside Mikoshi in the ending - the Soulkiller'd engram. The plan all along was to do that - Soulkiller V, alt separates their and Johnny's engrams, then install the engram copy of V back into their body. So yes, the original conciousness of V dies the moment they plug themselves into Mikoshi. The V that goes back into the body (or with Alt beyond the Blackwall) is the engram

It was said somewhere in the game that an engram is just a copy, that is not meant for a person that does, but for those who wanted this person to be around. Which basically means that the original, true V is dead. The question about how does "new" V realize themselves is still open. Might be that it doesn't have any consciousness at all. Just a programmed body that does the things a real V would do. But this seems as more of a religious question to be honest

There are 3 main choices, depending on which line missions you've completed: Arasaka, Rogue and Johnny, or Panam and the Aldacaldos. There's also the hidden ending, where you choose nobody, and then the "bad" ending, where V commits self deletion.

the hands-from-аss motherfuсkers (also known as the developers) seem to have the dialogues swapped. So the dialogue from the first ending was meant for the second one, and vice versa. Totally looks like an another fuсk up that wasn't fixed. It still remains in 1.61 version of the game, which is to be the last one.

@@sunofabeach9424 no the dialogues aren't swap, its intentional. there's a lot of little variations in the rogue ending depending on what your answer was to johnny about taking a bullet for him in a certain quest and general relationship %. the dialogue that you called swapped makes sense because V wanted johnny to keep the body, albeit sure its a little awkward with the "you won't forget me" line but its not insanely wrong. if you chose "yes" in the bullet question then your V is going to react negatively towards johnny wanting to give you the body, if you chose "no" then its a different outcome in terms of dialogue and attitude. this further gets diversified depending on your relationship %.

I don't know if the creator of the video fiddled with the dialogue or if it is a bug as there were so many but the dialogue is incorrect. The dialogue for V giving his body to Johnny triggers V to say the things he would say when he stays in his body and when V wants to stay in his body Johnny talks like V is giving him the body. This is all completely wrong.

First, she lost her best friend Evelyn, then, if you took over the "Clouds" and killed tigerclaws to romance Judy, she also loses the friends she was storming the "Clouds" with (gangsters kill them), in the same quest you also might kill her ex girlfriend, which is something Judy is very upset about, and in the end, a person that she gets connected with on the deepest level just disappears. Of course poor girl gets totally broken
